2019 Liga 1 (Peru)
The 2019 Liga 1 de Fútbol Profesional (known as the 2019 Liga 1 Movistar for sponsorship reasons) was the 103rd season of the highest division of Peruvian football. A total of 18 teams competed in the season, with Sporting Cristal coming in as defending champions. Binacional were the champions, winning their first league title by defeating Alianza Lima in the finals by a 4–3 aggregate score. Competition format The season will be divided into three stages: Torneo Apertura, Torneo Clausura, and the Playoffs. The first and second stages will be two smaller Apertura and Clausura tournaments of 17 games each. Each team will play the other teams once during the Apertura tournament and once during the Clausura tournament in reversed order for a total of 34 matches. The Peru First Division (; ''First Division'') —known as Liga 1 Betsson for sponsorship reasons and officially as Liga 1 — is the top flight of association football in Peru. It has been referred to as Torneo Descentralizado since 1966, when the first teams residing outside the Lima and Callao provinces were invited to compete in the inaugural league national competition. The main sponsor is the Spanish telecommunications brand Movistar. There are 20 teams in the division of a league that operates on a system of promotion and relegation determined at the end of the season with the Segunda División and the Copa Perú. Ayacucho FC
Ayacucho Fútbol Club is a Peruvian football club located in Ayacucho, Peru. Some of its former names are Aurora Miraflores, Olímpico San Luis, Olímpico Somos Peru, Olímpico Aurora Miraflores, Loreto and Inti Gas. As Olímpico Somos Peru, the club won a Second Division title in 2006, and as Inti Gas, the club finished as runner-up in 2008. Universidad Técnica de Cajamarca (usually referred to as UTC) is the biggest Peruvian football club in the city of Cajamarca, Peru. It was founded in 1964 and play in the Torneo Descentralizado which is the top flight of the Peruvian league. Comerciantes Unidos is a Peruvian football club from Cutervo, Cajamarca. It plays in the Peruvian Segunda Division. History Comerciantes Unidos was founded as Los Comerciantes by Abdias Cieza Tapia, Juan Tarrillo Castro, and Jorge Salas Toro in 2001. That year they were promoted to their local district league. Club Sport Rosario was a Peruvian football club, which played in the city of Huaraz. Sport Rosario was founded on October 4, 1965. The team played its home games at Rosas Pampa stadium. 2018 Peruvian Promotion Play-offs
The 2018 Peruvian promotion play-offs or Cuadrangular de Ascenso 2018 was held in December 2018 with all games being played at Estadio Miguel Grau, Callao. The play-offs determined the third and fourth team to be promoted to the Torneo Descentralizado following that tournament's expansion. The teams place 2nd and 3rd in the 2018 Peruvian Segunda División and 2018 Copa Perú took part in the promotion play-offs. The top two placed team in the play-offs gained promotion in the 2019 Torneo Descentralizado and the bottom two qualified to the 2019 Peruvian Segunda División. 2018 Copa Perú
The 2018 Peru Cup season ( es, Copa Perú 2018), the largest amateur tournament of Peruvian football, started in February. This edition has featured a change, with the elimination of the Regional Stage and the inclusion of participants from all the Regions of Peru in the National Stage. Under the new format, the tournament has four stages. The first three stages are played as mini-league round-robin tournaments, and the fourth stage is played under POT System intellectual property of the MatchVision company. 2018 Peruvian Segunda División
The 2018 Segunda División season, was the 73rd edition of the second tier of Federación Peruana de Futbol. The tournament started on 8 April 2018 and ended on 2 December 2018. Competition modus The season was divided into two phases, a home-and-away round-robin stage and a liguilla stage. The top seven teams at the end of the first stage moved on to liguilla. The first placed team received a bye to the semi-finals. The other six teams played quarter-final, two-leg matches. The semi-finals and final also played over two legs. 2019 Copa Bicentenario
The 2019 Copa Bicentenario was played between June and July while the Peru national football team prepared for and competed in the 2019 Copa América. The tournament was played as a knockout competition, with the participation of the 18 teams of the Liga 1, and 12 teams of the Liga 2. The champions will qualify for the 2020 Copa Sudamericana.
