2019 Leinster Senior Hurling Championship
The 2019 Leinster Senior Hurling Championship is the 2019 installment of the annual Leinster Senior Hurling Championship organised by Leinster GAA. Galway county hurling team, Galway were the defending champions, but were eliminated in controversial circumstances in Round 5 and finished fourth in the province, despite having the same number of points as Dublin county hurling team, Dublin and Leinster finalists Kilkenny county hurling team, Kilkenny and Wexford county hurling team, Wexford. Wexford defeated Kilkenny in 2019 Leinster Senior Hurling Championship Final, the final. Teams The Leinster championship was contested by four counties from the Irish province of Leinster, as well as one county from the Irish province of Connacht, where the sport is only capable of supporting one county team at this level. Galway County Hurling Team
The Galway county hurling team ( ) represents County Galway, Galway in hurling and is governed by Galway GAA, the County board (Gaelic games), county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. It formerly competed in the abolished Connacht Senior Hurling Championship, winning the last title in 1999. Galway's home ground is Pearse Stadium, Salthill. The team's manager is Henry Shefflin. Nowlan Park
UPMC Nowlan Park (; ) is the principal Gaelic Athletic Association stadium in Kilkenny, Ireland. Named after James Nowlan (the longest serving President of the GAA), the stadium hosts major hurling matches and is home to the Kilkenny hurling team. It opened in 1927 replacing St. James Park. Pearse Stadium ( ga, Páirc an Phiarsaigh) is the principal GAA stadium in Galway, Ireland. The Galway GAA Gaelic football and hurling teams use the stadium for their home games. Parnell Park is a GAA stadium in Donnycarney, Dublin, Ireland with a capacity of 8,500. It is the home of the Dublin GAA hurling, football, camogie and ladies' football teams at all levels of competition.
