2019 Colorado Rapids Season
The 2019 Colorado Rapids season is the club's twenty-fourth season of existence and their twenty-fourth consecutive season in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top flight of American soccer. Colorado will also compete in the U.S. Open Cup. The season covers the period from October 29, 2018 to the start of the 2020 Major League Soccer season. The Colorado Rapids are an American professional soccer club based in the Denver metropolitan area. The Rapids compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference. Founded in 1995, as part of the Anschutz Corporation, later to be a founding sports franchise of the global sports & entertainment juggernaut AEG, the club is a founding member of MLS, playing their first season in 1996. The Rapids are owned by the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, also owners of the Denver Nuggets of NBA, Colorado Avalanche of NHL, and other sports teams outside of the state of Colorado. Houston Dynamo FC (formerly officially, but still commonly, called the Houston Dynamo) is an American professional soccer club based in Houston. The Dynamo compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference. Established on December 15, 2005, the club was founded after their former owners relocated the San Jose Earthquakes' players and staff to Houston following the 2005 season. For their first six seasons in Houston, the Dynamo were based at Robertson Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston. Andre Rawls (born December 20, 1991) is an American soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper. Career College Rawls spent his entire college career at Saint Mary's College, including a red-shirted year in 2010. Rawls was named the WCC goalkeeper of the year in 2014 and earned first team all-Far West Region honors by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He set a program record for career goals-against average at 0.98 and registered 25 career wins and 17 shut-outs. Professional On January 20, 2015, Rawls was selected in the third round (44th overall) of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by New York City FC. The 2018 CONCACAF Champions League (officially the 2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons) was the 10th edition of the CONCACAF Champions League under its current name, and overall the 53rd edition of the premier football club competition organized by CONCACAF, the regional governing body of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Dominique Badji (born October 16, 1992) is a Senegalese professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Forward (association football), forward for Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati.
