2019 Brussels Cycling Classic
The 2019 Brussels Cycling Classic was the 99th edition of the Brussels Cycling Classic road cycling one day race. It was held on 7 September 2019 as part of the 2019 UCI Europe Tour. Teams Twenty-five teams participated in the race, of which nine were UCI WorldTour teams, fifteen were UCI Professional Continental teams, and one was a UCI Continental Team. Each team entered seven riders, with the exception of , who entered six. Of the 174 riders who started the race, only 155 riders finished. 2019 UCI Europe Tour
The 2019 UCI Europe Tour was the fifteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2019 season began on 31 January 2019 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Porreres, Felanitx, Ses Salines, Campos and ended on 20 October 2019. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Kaden Groves
Kaden Groves (born 23 December 1998) is an Australian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Groves was the 2016 winner of the junior race at the Australian National Road Race Championships. In 2017, Groves finished runner-up in the prologue stage of the Tour de Kumano. He won stage 3 of the Tour of Fuzhou. In August 2019, Groves joined UCI WorldTeam as a stagiaire for the second half of the season, before joining the team permanently in 2020. Alexander Kristoff (born 5 July 1987) is a Norwegian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He won the Norwegian National Road Race Championships in 2007 and 2011. Arnaud Démare (born 26 August 1991) is a professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . In 2011 he won the UCI World Under-23 Road Race Championships, and in 2016 he won the Milan–San Remo. The UCI WorldTour (2009–2010: ''UCI World Ranking'') is the premier men's elite road cycling tour, sitting above the UCI ProSeries and various regional UCI Continental Circuits. Brussels Cycling Classic
The Brussels Cycling Classic (known until June 2013 as Paris–Brussels) is a semi classic European bicycle race, one of the oldest races on the international calendar. History Paris–Brussels was first run on 12 August 1893 as an amateur event over a distance of 397 km, Belgian Andre Henry took the inaugural victory from compatriot Charles Delbecque with France's Fernand Augenault coming in third. The race did not return to the racing calendar until 1906 when it was run as a two-day event on 3 and 4 June. The first stage of this 1906 event was run from the Paris suburb of Villiers-sur-Marne to Reims over 152 km and was won by France's Maurice Bardonneau.
