The 2019 in Indonesian football, 2019 season was the fifth season of competitive association football and fourth season in the Liga 1 (Indonesia), Liga 1 played by Bali United F.C., Bali United Football Club, a professional football club based in Gianyar Regency, Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia. Their 11th-place finish in 2018 Liga 1 (Indonesia), 2018 meant it was their fourth successive season in Liga 1. This season would be Bali United's first with head coach Stefano Cugurra, who stepped in for Widodo Cahyono Putro. Coming into the season, Bali United were in the round of 32 of the Piala Indonesia for the first time in their history. Alessandro Stefano Cugurra Rodrigues (born 25 July 1974), also known as Stefano Cugurra and nicknamed as Teco, is a Brazilian association football, football coach. who is the current head coach of Indonesian club Bali United F.C., Bali United. Started his career in Indonesia as a physical coach at Persebaya Surabaya in 2004, he rose into prominence when he was coaching Persija Jakarta in late 2017. In 2018, he brought Persija to its first Liga 1 (Indonesia), Indonesian top league title since 2001. Afterwards, he moved to Bali United, in which he won his second consecutive league title; it is the first Balinese club to win an Indonesian top league title. 2018 Liga 1 (Indonesia)
The 2018 Liga 1, also known as Go-Jek Liga 1 for sponsorship reasons, was the second season of Liga 1 under its current name and the ninth season of the top-flight Indonesian professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 2008. The season started on 23 March 2018 and ended on 9 December 2018. Fixtures for the 2018 season were announced on 10 March 2018. Bhayangkara were the defending champions. Persebaya, PSMS, and PSIS joined as the promoted teams from the 2017 Liga 2. They replaced Persegres, Persiba, and Semen Padang who were relegated to the 2018 Liga 2. Haudi Abdillah (born 20 April 1993) is an Indonesian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Liga 1 club Bali United. Demerson
Demerson Bruno Costa (born 16 March 1986), simply known as Demerson, is a retired Brazilian footballer who played as a centre-back. In 2011, while playing for Coritiba Foot Ball Club, Demerson won the Most Uninterrupted Winning Matches of the World award on Guinness World Records 2013 Edition. Nick van der Velden (born 16 December 1981) is a Dutch former footballer. He previously played for FC Dordrecht, RKC Waalwijk, AZ Alkmaar, NEC, FC Groningen, Willem II, Dundee United, Bali United, and Amsterdamsche FC. Syaiful Indra Cahya (born 28 May 1992) is an Indonesian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Liga 2 club Deltras.
