2019 Anniversary Games
The 2019 Anniversary Games was the 67th edition of the annual outdoor track and field meeting in London. Held from 20 to 21 July at London Stadium, it was the tenth leg of the 2019 IAAF Diamond League – the highest level international track and field circuit. The first day of competition was noted for the close race between Hagos Gebrhiwet and future Olympic gold medalist Jakob Ingebrigtsen, as well as the unexpected fall of Nijel Amos in the men's 800 m. The final day was noted for Catriona Bisset's Australian record in the 800 m and Ingebrigtsen's loss again, this time in the 1500 m to Samuel Tefera. Diamond League results Athletes competing in the Diamond League disciplines earned extra compensation and points which went towards qualifying for one of two Diamond League finals (either Zürich or Brussels depending on the discipline). Zharnel Hughes (born 13 July 1995, The Valley, Anguilla) is an Anguillan-born British sprinter who specialises in the 100 metres and 200 metres. Born and raised in the British Overseas Territory of Anguilla, he has competed internationally for Great Britain in the Olympic Games, World Athletics and European Athletics events, and for England at the Commonwealth Games, since 2015. Richard Kilty (born 2 September 1989 in Middlesbrough) is a British sprinter who competes both Indoor and Outdoor across all the sprint events including 60 metres, 100 metres, 150 metres, and 200 metres. A noted fast starter, and considered a specialist in both 60 metres and relays, he is a former World and double European Champion indoors at 60 metres, and a silver medalist in the World Athletics Championships. On 18 February 2022 it was announced that Kilty and his teammates Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, Zharnel Hughes, and CJ Ujah would be stripped of their 4 × 100 metres relay 2020 Summer Olympics silver medals after Court of Arbitration for Sport found CJ Ujah guilty of a doping violation. Harry Leslie Aikines-Aryeetey (pronounced ''Ay-yee-tey'', born 29 August 1988) is an English sprinter. A prodigious junior runner, in 2005 he was named as the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and the IAAF's Rising Star of the Year after becoming the first athlete to win gold medals at both 100 metres and 200 metres at the World Youth Championships. An Olympian for Great Britain at the Rio Olympics, Aikines-Aryeetey won his first senior individual medal, a bronze, in the 100 metres at the 2014 European Athletics Championships. At the same championships he earned his first senior title as part of the Great Britain team that won gold in the men's 4 x 100 metres relay. Chijindu "CJ" Ujah (born 5 March 1994) is a British athlete, specializing as a sprinter. The lead-off runner of the Great Britain 4 × 100 metres relay team that won both the World title in 2017 and the European title in 2016 and 2018, he also won the title in the 100 metres at the 2017 Diamond League final. Tyquendo Tracey (born June 10, 1993 in Trelawny, Jamaica) is a Jamaican professional athlete competing in the sprints. He is the 2018 Jamaican champion in the 100 m and the 2018 NACAC champion, setting the championship record of 10.03 s in the process. Just three weeks earlier, he became the 135th man and 20th Jamaican to break the 10-second barrier by running 9.96 s in a qualifying heat at the London Anniversary Games on July 21, 2018. Cejhae Colin Greene (born 6 October 1995) is an Antiguan sprinter. He attended the Princess Margaret School. Cejhae is the first of three children born to Jonah Greene and Colin Greene. Yoshihide Kiryū
is a Japanese sprinter who specializes in the 100 metres. Born in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, Kiryū played football while at elementary school and became interested in track and field at junior high school, as his brother took part in the sport. In 2011, he won the under-16 national title in the 100 metres at the National Sports Festival of Japan, with a time of 10.58 seconds. The following year, Kiryū ran in the under-18 category at the same competition and broke the world youth best for the 100 metres by bettering Tamunosiki Atorudibo's record of 10.23 seconds by two hundredths of a second on 5 October 2012. Adam Ahmed Gemili (born 6 October 1993) is a British sprinter. He is the 2014 European champion at 200 metres, and 4 x 100 metres relay, and part of the Great Britain team that won gold in the 2017 World Championships in the same event. He was the first British Athlete to go sub-10s in the 100m and sub-20s in the 200m. A silver medalist in the 100 metres and 4 × 100 m relay in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Gemili is also a former World Junior champion at 100 m and European Under-23 champion at 100 m and 4 × 100 m relay.
