2019 ASB Classic
The 2019 Auckland Open (sponsored by ASB Bank) was a joint ATP and WTA tennis tournament, played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 34th edition of the women's event, and the 43rd edition of the men's event. It took place at the ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, from 31 December 2018 to 6 January 2019 for the women, and from 7 to 12 January 2019 for the men. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). ATP Auckland Open
The ATP Auckland Open, commonly known by its sponsored name ASB Classic, is a professional men's tennis tournament in Auckland, New Zealand. The tournament is played annually at the ASB Tennis Centre, in Parnell. It is part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour. The tournament is held annually in January a week before the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open. The Auckland Open is expected to return in 2023 after the 2021 and 2022 events were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic owing travel restrictions for international visitors to New Zealand. A * Ace: Serve where the tennis ball lands inside the '' service box'' and is not touched by the receiver; thus, a shot that is both a serve and a winner is an ace. Rubin Statham
Rubin Statham (born 25 April 1987), often referred to by his nickname of "José," is a professional tennis player from New Zealand. His twin brother Mikal (usually referred to by his nickname of "Oliver") is also a professional tennis player. He has reached a ATP career high ranking of 279 in singles as of 25 February 2013, and 139 in doubles as of 17 June 2013. Career In June 2005, Statham's second year on the professional tour, he made his first final at the Japan F8 tournament. He lost in the final to Go Soeda of Japan 4–6, 3–6. Cameron Norrie (; born 23 August 1995) is a South African-born British professional tennis player, having previously represented New Zealand. He has reached career-high rankings of world No. 8 in singles (on 12 September 2022) and No. 117 in doubles (on 13 June 2022). He has four ATP Tour singles titles (including a Masters 1000 title at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters) and one doubles title. Norrie has been the British No. 1 in men's singles since 18 October 2021. David Ferrer Ern (; ; born 2 April 1982) is a Spanish former professional tennis player. A three-time Davis Cup champion with Spain, Ferrer has won tournaments at all levels on the ATP Tour ( ATP 250, ATP 500, Masters 1000) except at a major, and currently has the seventh highest career prize money earnings of all time among male tennis players (not adjusting for inflation). Gaël Sébastien Monfils (; born 1 September 1986) is a French professional tennis player. Chung Hyeon (; ; born 19 May 1996) is a South Korean professional tennis player. He is the 2017 Next Gen Finals champion.
