2018–19 Portland Trail Blazers Season
The 2018–19 Portland Trail Blazers season was the franchise's 49th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Prior to the season, owner Paul Allen died at the age of 65, and thus the team's ownership was (and is currently) managed by his estate. On March 25, 2019, the Trail Blazers clinched a playoff spot after defeating the 2018–19 Brooklyn Nets season, Brooklyn Nets 148–144 in double overtime. Jusuf Nurkić suffered a season-ending injury in the same game. Terry Stotts
Terry Linn Stotts (born November 25, 1957) is an American professional basketball coach and former player. He most recently served as head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After a playing as a forward in Europe and the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), where he was coached by George Karl, Stotts became a part of Karl's coaching staff on multiple teams in the CBA and NBA. He later got opportunities as a head coach for the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks, before helping the Dallas Mavericks win the 2011 NBA championship as an assistant coach. 2015–16 Portland Trail Blazers Season
The 2015–16 Portland Trail Blazers season was the franchise's 46th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). In the First Round of the Playoffs, the Blazers defeated the injury depleted Los Angeles Clippers in six games. However, their season ended in the next round with a defeat to the defending NBA champion and eventual Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors in five games. This was the Blazers' first season since 2005-06 without LaMarcus Aldridge as he joined the San Antonio Spurs during the summer. Meyers Patrick Leonard (born February 27, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini before being selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 11th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. David Vanterpool (born March 31, 1973) is an American professional basketball coach and former player. He most recently served as an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). James Timothy Moran (born December 3, 1978) is an American-Irish retired professional basketball player and current assistant coach for the NBA's Detroit Pistons. Playing career Moran was born in Syosset, New York and attended St. Dominic High School in Oyster Bay from 1993 to 1997. He played on a state championship team during his prep years. After graduating, Moran played four years of college basketball at William & Mary (1997–2001) where he scored 1,324 points and was a two-time All- Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Team member in his junior and senior seasons. John P. McCullough (born October 5, 1956) is a retired National Basketball Association (NBA) basketball player. McCullough was a Big Eight Player of the Year and NCAA All-American for the University of Oklahoma. McCullough was drafted in the fourth round of the 1979 NBA draft by the Kansas City Kings. His only season in the NBA was for the Phoenix Suns in 1981–82. McCullough was an assistant coach at Southern Methodist University and the University of New Mexico before becoming the head coach at New Mexico Highlands University from 1996 to 2000. The Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team represents Duke University in NCAA Division I college basketball and competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Anfernee Tyrik Simons (born June 8, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played prep basketball for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He became the first American to enter and be selected in an NBA draft directly after graduating from high school since the league first implemented age restriction rules in 2005.
