2018–19 National Premier League
The 2018–19 National Premier League is the 45th season of the National Premier League, the top division football competition in Jamaica. The season began on 16 September 2018 and will end on 29 April 2019. Portmore United are the defending champions, having won their 6th title last season. Teams Sandals South Coast FC and Boys' Town finished 11th and 12th in last season's competition and were relegated to their respective regional Super Leagues, the Western Super League and KSAFA Super League respectively. At the end of last season, the champions of the four Super Leagues participated in a promotion playoff double round robin tournament. Dunbeholden F.C. and Mount Pleasant Football Academy finished 1st and 2nd after the playoff and were promoted to the National Premier League for this season. National Premier League
The National Premier League, also known for sponsorship purposes as the Red Stripe Premier League, is sanctioned by the Jamaican Football Federation as the top division for men's association football in Jamaica. Contested between 12 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Jamaica's regional Super Leagues where the two lowest placed teams are relegated to their corresponding local second division league. History The National Premier League was formed in 1973 to serve as the top tier of Jamaican professional club football. The league's inaugural season kicked off on September 22, 1973 as the ''Kingston Major League'', and finished with Santos F.C. as the first title winners. 13 different clubs have been crowned champions of Jamaica. Clarendon, Jamaica
Clarendon is a parish in Jamaica. It is located on the south of the island, roughly halfway between the island's eastern and western ends. Located in the county of Middlesex, it is bordered by Manchester on the west, Saint Catherine in the east, and in the north by Saint Ann. Its capital and largest town is May Pen. Fabian Taylor (born 13 April 1980) is a Jamaican soccer player, who currently plays striker for Harbour View. Harbour View Stadium
Harbour View Stadium is a football stadium in Harbour View, near Kingston, Jamaica. It was built by Carvel Stewart and Harbour View Football Club in the 1990s, as a part of the club's effort to transform into a truly professional organization. It is the home stadium for the Harbour View Football Club, and has a capacity of 7,000 spectators. Portmore is a large urban settlement located along the southeastern coast of Jamaica in Saint Catherine, and a dormitory community for the neighbouring cities of Kingston and Spanish Town.
