2018–19 Mid-American Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2018–19 Mid-American Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2018, followed by the start of the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Conference play began in January 2019 and concluded in March 2019. The season marked the 76th season of Mid–American Conference basketball. Preseason In the preseason, Buffalo, which returned five of its six leading scorers from a team that defeated Arizona Wildcats men's basketball in the NCAA tournament, was discussed as a team that could potentially make a "Cinderalla run" in the NCAA Tournament. The preseason poll and league awards were announced by the league office on October 30, 2019. Justin Rafael Turner (born March 12, 1998), nicknamed "Juice" or "JT", is an American professional basketball player for Río Ourense Termal of the LEB Oro. Eugene German (born December 2, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Fujian Sturgeons of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the Northern Illinois Huskies and left as the program's all-time leading scorer and a conference champion. High school career German grew up in crime-ridden Gary, Indiana and played basketball from an early age under his father's guidance. At age 10, he was noticed by an Amateur Athletic Union coach at a church camp tournament and began playing around the state and country. Nick Perkins (born October 15, 1996) is an American basketball player for New Basket Brindisi of the Lega Basket Serie A. He played college basketball for the Buffalo Bulls.
