2018–19 Charlotte Hornets Season
The 2018–19 Charlotte Hornets season was the 29th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). On April 13, 2018, the Hornets fired head coach Steve Clifford after the team missed the playoffs. On May 10, 2018, the Hornets hired James Borrego as head coach. This season is notable because the team is celebrating their 30th year in the NBA, also announcing that Muggsy Bogues and Dell Curry would be ambassadors for the team. With a Detroit Pistons win on April 10, against the New York Knicks, the Hornets were eliminated from playoff contention for the third straight season. This season also marked Tony Parker's 18th and final season in the NBA, as he announced his retirement on June 10, 2019. James Borrego
James Borrego (born November 12, 1977) is an American professional basketball coach who most recently served as the head coach of the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association. Early life and playing career Borrego was born on November 12, 1977, in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is of Mexican American descent. He played three seasons with the San Diego Toreros, and during his senior season (2000–01) was named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team. Coaching career Borrego began his coaching career with his alma mater, University of San Diego, as an assistant from 2001 to 2003. Ronald Nored (born March 1, 1990) is an American basketball coach, currently an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Previously he served as the head coach of the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League, and an assistant coach for the Maine Red Claws of the Boston Celtics organization. Nathaniel Mitchell (1753 – February 21, 1814) was an American lawyer and politician from Laurel, in Sussex County, Delaware. He was an officer in the Continental Army during the American Revolution, a Continental Congressman from Delaware, and a member of the Federalist Party, who served as Governor of Delaware.
