2018–19 Central Arkansas Sugar Bears Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Central Arkansas Sugar Bears basketball team will represent the University of Central Arkansas during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Sugar Bears will be led by seventh year head coach Sandra Rushing and will play their home games at the Farris Center. They are members of the Southland Conference. Previous season The Sugar Bears finished the 2017–18 season 25–10, 14–4 in Southland play to finish in third place. They advanced to the semifinals of the Southland women's tournament where they lost to Stephen F. Austin. They received an invite to the WBI where they defeated SIU Ewardsville, Weber State and Nevada in the first round, quarterfinals and semifinals to advanced to the championship game where they lost to Yale in the championship game. Sandra Rushing
Sandra Rushing is an American women's college basketball coach. She has served as head coach at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), Delta State University, and the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). When she left UTEP, she had the best record for women's basketball in the school's history. Rushing was inducted into the El Paso Women's Hall of Fame in 1999. Biography Rushing grew up on a farm in Wool Market, Mississippi. She graduated from the University of Alabama in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in physical education. She played basketball at Alabama and was named a defensive MVP. and She earned her master's degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Delta State University in 1989. Sylvan Hills High School is an accredited comprehensive public high school located in the city of Sherwood, Arkansas, United States, serving grades nine through twelve. Sylvan Hills is one of four high schools administered by the Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD). Kirk Academy
Kirk Academy is a K-12 Christian school in Grenada, Mississippi. It is part of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS). In 1966, when the public schools in Grenada County were integrated, some of the most violent acts of the civil rights movement ensued. For five months, violent White mobs congregated outside the schools to forcibly prevent African American students from entering. It was founded in 1966 in response to integration of the public schools and has been described as a segregation academy. As of 2018, all but 11 of the school's 385 students were white.
