2018 PDC World Youth Championship
The 2018 PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship was the eighth edition of the PDC World Youth Championship, a tournament organised by the Professional Darts Corporation for darts players aged between 16 and 23. In a change mirroring that of the 2019 PDC World Darts Championship, the field of this competition increased from 64 to 96 players, who competed in 32 groups of three, with the winner of each progressing to the knockout stages. The group stage and knock-out phase from the last 32 to the semi-finals was played at Robin Park Centre, Wigan, on 5 November 2018. The final took place on 25 November 2018, before the final of the 2018 Players Championship Finals. Belgium's Dimitri Van den Bergh was the defending champion after defeating English player Josh Payne 6–3 in the 2017 final. Butlin's Minehead
Butlins Resort Minehead is a holiday camp operated by Butlins, located in Minehead in Somerset, England. It opened in 1962 and remains in use today. It was known as Butlin's Minehead until 1987, and as Somerwest World from then until 1999, when it reopened as Butlins Minehead Resort. History In the winter of 1961, Billy Butlin began work on creating a holiday camp in Minehead. The site was selected because of its flatness, good rail links, and proximity to the town and sea. The site was not without its problems, however, including flooding. In order to solve this, a trench was excavated around the site and an earth wall constructed. The trench later became the site's boating pond. The site opened to the public on 26 May 1962, the construction having cost £2 million. Bradley Brooks (born 20 February 2000) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation events. He won the 2020 PDC World Youth Championship. Career In 2017, Brooks won the Junior Darts Corporation European Open title, defeating Jarred Cole 6–5 in the final. Brooks entered UK Q School in 2018, winning a two-year Tour Card on the fourth & final day, by defeating John Goldie 5–1 in the final round. His first major run in professional darts came in late June 2018, when he made the quarter-finals of Players Championship 16 in Barnsley, only to be knocked out by eventual winner Ian White. Ryan Meikle
Ryan Meikle ( born 13 August 1996) is an English professional darts player who plays in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career Born in Ipswich, Suffolk, Meikle is a barber by trade, hence his nickname of "The Barber". He won a PDC Pro Tour card by qualifying from the second day of Q School in 2016. Rowby-John Rodriguez
Rowby-John Rodriguez (born 27 March 1994) is an Austrian professional darts player currently playing in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career In 2010, as a 16-year-old, Rodriguez won the Austrian National Championship by beating Franz Thaler 5–0 in the final. At the second event of Q School in January 2014 he stood one win away from joining the PDC but lost 5–3 to Gerwyn Price. However, after all four events had been played Rodriguez had done enough to finish ninth on the Q School Order of Merit and earn a two-year tour card. George Alan Killington (born 23 May 1996 from London) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation events. Ted Evetts (born 3 August 1997) is an English darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is the 2021 PDC World Youth Champion. Career Evetts plays for his local Super League team and also plays Men's County for Warwickshire as well as being signed on to Warwickshire Youth County. He is also a qualified chef. After competing on the PDC Development Tour in 2014 and 2015, Evetts gained a PDC Pro Tour card on the second day of the 2016 Qualifying School. Luke Humphries (born 11 February 1995) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won the 2019 PDC World Youth Championship. Career Humphries won five PDC Development Tour titles in 2017, finishing top of the Development Tour Order of Merit.
