Ottawa Fury Football Club was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Ottawa, Ontario. The club competed in the North American Soccer League and USL Championship and played its home games at TD Place Stadium. The Ottawa Fury FC were dissolved as a soccer club on November 8, 2019 and their USL franchise rights were sold to Miami FC on December 11, 2019. An unrelated club, Atlético Ottawa, were formed in 2020 to enter the Canadian Premier League representing the city, with home games again at TD Place Stadium. History Formative years On June 20, 2011, the North American Soccer League announced that Ottawa had been awarded an expansion franchise. League1 Ontario
League1 Ontario (L1O) is a semi-professional men's soccer league in Ontario, Canada. The league began play in 2014 and is sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association and the Ontario Soccer Association as a pro-am league in the Canadian soccer league system. As of the 2022 season, L1O includes 22 teams. Beginning in 2024, the league will become a three-tier league featuring promotion and relegation. In the Canadian soccer league system, the men's division is behind the Canadian Premier League (CPL). Thomas Meilleur-Giguère
Thomas Meilleur-Giguère (born November 13, 1997) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Pacific FC. Club career FC Montreal Meilleur-Giguère was a member of the Montreal Impact Academy U18 side which finished the 2014/15 U.S. Soccer Development Academy in first place in the overall standings. In February 2016, he was one of four teammates who had a training stint with Bologna F.C. 1909 of Serie A. FC Montreal signed Meilleur-Giguère for their 2016 season in the USL and made his professional debut for the club on March 28 in a 2–0 defeat to Toronto FC II. Daniel Kinumbe
Daniel Kinumbe (born March 15, 1999) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a left-back for HFX Wanderers. Early life Kinumbe borned in Tel Aviv to parents from Republic of the Congo and moved with his family in young age to Sherbrooke, Quebec in Canada. Club career Montreal Impact Kinumbe signed with Montreal Impact affiliate Ottawa Fury on August 6, 2018. He made his professional debut four days later against Nashville SC in a 2–0 defeat for the Fury. After the 2018 season, the Fury would announce that Kinumbe would not return to the team for the 2019 season. On November 16, 2018, Kinumbe sign a home grown contract with the Montreal Impact. Nashville Soccer Club is a Major League Soccer team based in Nashville, Tennessee. The team began play in the league in 2020 as a continuation of the USL club of the same name and plays its home matches at Geodis Park. David Edgar (soccer, Born 1987)
David Edward Edgar (born May 19, 1987) is a Canadian soccer coach and former professional player, he serves as assistant coach of Forge FC. As a player he was a centre-back who began his professional career in England with Premier League side Newcastle United, before also going on to feature in the top flight for Burnley. He went on to feature in the Football League for Swansea City, Birmingham City, Sheffield United later having a stint with non-league Hartlepool United. Montther "Monti" Mohsen (born June 13, 2000) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a left-back for Palestinian side Shabab Al-Khalil SC. Clement "Nana" Attakora-Gyan (born March 27, 1989), known as Nana Attakora and later Clement Attakora, is a Canadian former soccer player and coach, formerly a player and later assistant manager and director of player personnel of Oakland Roots.
