2018 Malmö FF Season
The 2018 season was Malmö FF's 107th in existence, their 83rd season in Allsvenskan and their 18th consecutive season in the league. They competed in Allsvenskan where they finished third, 2017–18 Svenska Cupen where they finished as runners-up, and the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League where they were knocked out in the third qualifying round. Malmö FF also participated in two competitions in which the club continued playing in for the 2019 season, the 2018–19 Svenska Cupen and the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League. The season began with the group stage of Svenska Cupen on 18 February, league play started on 2 April and concluded on 11 November. The season concluded with the last UEFA Europa League group stage match on 13 December. The club's chairman, Håkan Jeppsson, died unexpectedly on 7 December, a week before the last match of the season. Malmö FF
Malmö Fotbollförening, commonly known as Malmö FF, Malmö, or MFF, is a professional football club and the most successful football club in Sweden in terms of trophies won. Formed in 1910 and affiliated with the Scania Football Association, Malmö FF is based at Eleda Stadion in Malmö, Scania. The club has won a record 22 Swedish championship titles and the most national cup titles with 15. Malmö FF won its first Championship in 1944. The powerhouse of Swedish football in recent years, Malmö FF also saw glory in the 1970s, winning five Swedish championships and four Svenska Cupen titles. 2018–19 UEFA Europa League
The 2018–19 UEFA Europa League was the 48th season of Europe's secondary club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 10th season since it was renamed from the UEFA Cup to the UEFA Europa League. The final was played at the Olympic Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan, between English sides Chelsea and Arsenal – which was the first Europa League final to feature two teams from one city. Chelsea defeated Arsenal 4–1 and earned the right to play against Liverpool, the winners of the 2018–19 UEFA Champions League, in the 2019 UEFA Super Cup. Fouad "Fred" Bachirou (born 15 April 1990) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Cyprus First Division side Omonia. He previously played for Paris Saint-Germain reserves, Greenock Morton in Scotland, Swedish sides Östersund and Malmö FF, and EFL Championship side Nottingham Forest. Oscar Lewicki
Carl Oscar Johan Lewicki (, ; born 14 July 1992) is a Swedish footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Allsvenskan club Malmö FF. Born in Malmö, Lewicki started off his career with Malmö FF before joining FC Bayern Munich's youth organization in 2008. In 2011, Lewicki returned to his native Sweden to play for BK Häcken. In 2015, he rejoined his boyhood club Malmö FF with which he has won the 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2021 Allsvenskan titles. A full international since 2014, Lewicki has won 15 caps for the Sweden national team and was a squad player for his country at UEFA Euro 2016. Søren Krucov Rieks (; born 7 April 1987) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Malmö FF in Allsvenskan. He previously represented Esbjerg fB, NEC, and IFK Göteborg. A full international between 2009 and 2010, he has won three caps and scored one goal for the Denmark national team. Behrang Safari ( fa, بهرنگ صفری, ; born 9 February 1985) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a defender. Starting off his professional career with Malmö FF in 2004, he went on to represent FC Basel and RSC Anderlecht before retiring at Malmö in 2020. Walter Viitala (born 9 January 1992) is a Finnish footballer who plays as goalkeeper for Inter Turku. The 1986–87 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won by Ajax in the final against Lokomotive Leipzig. The young Ajax side, which included the likes of Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and Dennis Bergkamp, was guided to victory by its coach Johan Cruyff.
