2018 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup Of Asia
The 2018 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia was an international women's ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament took place between 8 March and 11 March 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was the sixth edition held since its formation in 2010 under the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia series of tournaments. Chinese Taipei's under-18 team won the tournament after winning all three of their round-robin games and finishing first in the standings. The New Zealand under-18 team finished in second place and Thailand finished third. The 2017 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia is an international women's ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament took place from 7 to 15 March 2017 at the Rink Ice Arena of the CentralPlaza Grand Rama IX in Bangkok, Thailand. A round robin format was used. It was the fifth edition held since its formation in 2010 under the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia series of tournament. Malaysia Women's National Ice Hockey Team
The Malaysia women's national ice hockey team is the ice hockey team representing Malaysia internationally in women's competition. The team is overseen by the Malaysia Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. The team was formed in 2016 and currently competes in the IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia Division I tournament. History The Malaysia women's national ice hockey team played its first game in March 2016 at the 2016 IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia Division I tournament. IIHF Women's Challenge Cup Of Asia
The IIHF Asia and Oceania Championship (formally the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia) are a series of international ice hockey tournaments in the continent of Asia. The purpose of the tournament is to provide competitive opportunities for Asian and Oceania teams that are either in the lower divisions of the IIHF World Championships or did not compete in any IIHF World Championships. The first edition was held in Hong Kong from 24 to 26 April 2008, with the second edition held a year later in the United Arab Emirates. The third edition took place from 29 March to 4 April 2010 in the Republic of China. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence.
