2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Women's High Jump
The women's high jump at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place at Arena Birmingham in Birmingham, United Kingdom, on 1 March 2018. With the pits back to back in the center of the arena and no events on the track, the Women shared center stage with the Men's high jump. Summary Russian Mariya Lasitskene, competing as an Authorised Neutral Athlete, led the field of thirteen women that year through her clearance of at the Stalingrad Cup. Arena Birmingham
Arena Birmingham (known for sponsorship reasons as Utilita Arena Birmingham, and previously as The Barclaycard Arena and originally as the National Indoor Arena) is an indoor arena and sporting venue in central Birmingham, United Kingdom. It is owned by parent company the NEC Group. When it was opened in 1991, it was the largest indoor arena in the UK. The arena was renamed Utilita Arena Birmingham on 15 April 2020. Arnstadt () is a town in Ilm-Kreis, Thuringia, Germany, on the river Gera about south of Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia. Yorgelis Rodríguez García (born 25 January 1995) is a Cuban track and field athlete specialising in the heptathlon. She represented her country at the 2013 World Championships finishing twelfth overall. Levern Spencer
Levern Donaline Spencer, SLMM (born 23 June 1984 in Cacao Babonneau, Castries ) is a Saint Lucian retired athlete and high jumper. Spencer was a four-time Olympian for Saint Lucia and competed in eight World Championships. She was also a gold medalist at both the Commonwealth Games and Pan-American Games. Biography Early career Born in Castries, Spencer attended the University of Georgia in the United States. She earned a bachelor's degree from Georgia in Health Promotion and Behavior, having first embarked upon a course of study in computer science. Sofie Natalie Skoog (born June 7, 1990) is a Sweden, Swedish high jumper. She represented her nation Sweden at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics, 2015 IAAF World Championships, and at the 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing seventh in the final round of the Athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's high jump, women's high jump. She took up sports as a child, playing ice hockey and association football in addition to competing in athletics; she did not start concentrating on the high jump until she was 14.
