The 2018 German Open, officially the Yonex German Open 2018, was a badminton tournament which took place at Innogy Sporthalle in Germany from 6 to 11 March 2018 and had a total purse of $150,000. Tournament The 2018 German Open was the sixth tournament of the 2018 BWF World Tour and also part of the German Open championships which has been held since 1955. BWF World Tour Super 300
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). One other category of tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 level, also offers ranking points. Brice Leverdez (born 9 April 1986) is a French badminton player. He was a champion at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, won a silver medal at the 2015 European Games, and a bronze medal at the 2018 European Championships. Career Leverdez started playing badminton at aged 12, and continued after that at the club, then in 2008, he joined France national badminton team. Lucas Corvée
Lucas Maurice Corvée (born 9 June 1993) is a French badminton player affiliated with Issy Les Moulineaux 92 club. Corvée started playing badminton at aged 6 in Alençon badminton club. His mother also a professional badminton player. Lee Hyun-il ( ko, 이현일; born 17 April 1980) is a former badminton player from South Korea. He is a former World and Asian Championships bronze medalist, and was part of South Korean team that won the 2003 Sudirman Cup as well the gold medals at the 2002 and 2014 Asian Games. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (; born October 20, 1996) is an Indonesian badminton player. He first rose to prominence when he won the bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. At the 2020 Olympics, he won bronze in the men's singles event. He became the first Youth Olympic badminton medalist to win a medal at the Olympics, having also won bronze in 2014.
