2018 GT4 European Series
The 2018 GT4 European Series was the eleventh season of the GT4 European Series, a sports car championship created and organised by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO). The season began on 7 April at Zolder and ended on 16 September at the Nürburgring. It was the first season, after it was renamed from GT4 European Series Northern Cup to GT4 European Series. Calendar At the annual press conference during the 2017 24 Hours of Spa on 28 July, the Stéphane Ratel Organisation announced the first draft of the 2018 calendar, in which Monza, Silverstone and Paul Ricard initially made an appearance. All three tracks were dropped from the schedule, when the finalised calendar was announced on 24 November 2017. The Red Bull Ring, the Slovakia Ring and Zandvoort did not return on the schedule, as Zolder, Spa-Francorchamps and the Hungaroring took their places. GT4 European Series
The GT4 European Series is a sports car championship created and organised by SRO Motorsports Group. It is a pro/am championship which followed a formula similar to the FIA GT3 European Championship, which was itself derived from the FIA GT Championship which utilized the GT1 and GT2 classes. The GT4 class cars are the least powerful of the four classes, yet are equalised in order to allow driving skill to become key. History Following the successful introduction of the FIA GT3 European Championship in 2006, the formula was expanded to include usage by other nationally based professional championships such as the British GT Championship, Belcar, Australian GT Championship and German ADAC GT Masters. Brands Hatch is a motor racing circuit in West Kingsdown, Kent, England, United Kingdom. Originally used as a grasstrack motorcycle circuit on farmland, it hosted 12 runnings of the British Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986 and currently hosts many British and International racing events. Mogyoród is a small traditional village in Pest County, Hungary. The Battle of Mogyoród took place here on 14 March 1074, between Solomon, King of Hungary and his cousins Géza and Ladislaus, who were claiming rights to the throne.
