2018 FIBA Europe Cup Final
The 2018 FIBA Europe Cup Finals will be the concluding games of the 2017–18 FIBA Europe Cup season. The Finals will be played in a two-legged format, with the first leg being played on April 25 and the second one on 2 May 2018. For the second consecutive time, two teams from the same country will meet in the final. Venue The Palasport Giacomo Del Mauro was the first venue. The Palasport originally had a 3,600 seating capacity. It was expanded to a 5,300 seating capacity in 2008, specifically in order to meet the minimum capacity requirements for EuroLeague games, which require an arena of at least 5,000 seats. In 2008, the arena's usage rights were also entrusted to Air Avellino, for a period of ten years. The Palasport Giuseppe Taliercio in Venice, the venue for the second leg, opened in 1978. The 2017 FIBA Europe Cup Final were the concluding games of the 2016–17 FIBA Europe Cup season. The Finals were played in a two-legged format, with the first leg being played on April 19 and the second one on April 26, 2017. The first leg was played at Le Colisée in Chalon-sur-Saône, at the home court of Élan Chalon. The second leg was played at the Palais des Sports Maurice Thorez in Nanterre, at the home court of Nanterre 92. Venue The Le Colisée was the first leg venue as Élan Chalon venue. In the previous season Le Colisée hosted the 2016 FIBA Europe Cup Final Four. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 people. 2017–18 Basketball Champions League
The 2017–18 Basketball Champions League was the second season of the Basketball Champions League (BCL), a European-wide professional basketball competition for clubs, that was launched by FIBA. The competition began on 19 September 2017, with the qualifying rounds, and concluded on 6 May 2018. The Final Four, which was held 4–6 May, was hosted at the Olympic Indoor Hall in Athens, Greece. Hosts AEK Athens won their first Champions League title after defeating Monaco in the final. UCAM Murcia finished in third place while MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg was fourth. Format changes For the 2017–18 season, the league went back to the initial format of the 2016–17 season, which includes a regular season of four groups of eight teams, followed by a knock-out stage. 24 teams will be qualified directly, while eight teams will come from the three qualifying rounds that will be implemented. Austin Daye
Austin Darren Daye (born June 5, 1988) is an American professional basketball player who plays for New Taipei Kings of the P. League+. He played college basketball for Gonzaga before being drafted 15th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2009 NBA draft. He has played for the Pistons, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Toronto Raptors, the San Antonio Spurs and the Atlanta Hawks, while also spending time in Russia, Italy and the NBA Development League. Ariel Filloy (born March 11, 1987) is an Argentine-Italian professional basketball player for Derthona Basket of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). He also plays for the Italian national basketball team. Professional career After a period in the second league of the Italian basketball league system, with Dinamo Sassari and Basket Rimini Crabs, he began his Italian LBA experience in 2008, when Armani Jeans Milano offered him a contract until 2012. Maarten Arthur "Maarty" Leunen (born September 3, 1985) is a former American professional basketball player. A power forward formerly at the University of Oregon, he averaged 9.9 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game in his college career.
