2018 Edmonton Eskimos Season
The Edmonton Eskimos season was the 61st season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 70th overall. This was the third season under head coach Jason Maas and the second season under general manager Brock Sunderland. The team began the season with a 6–3 win–loss record, but after losing six of the following eight games, the Eskimos were eliminated from the playoffs during their week 20 bye after Winnipeg defeated Calgary to claim the final playoff spot. The Eskimos failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2013, becoming the first Grey Cup hosts to miss the playoffs since the 2016 Toronto Argonauts. The Eskimos' 9–9 record was actually tied with the BC Lions for the fifth-best finish in the nine-team league, however BC won the tie-breaker by winning the teams' season series and thus claimed the cross-over berth. Canadian Football League West Division
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division (CFL), East Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the West Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. CHED (630 AM) is a radio station licensed to Edmonton, Alberta. Owned by Corus Entertainment, it broadcasts a news/talk format, and first signed on in 1954. Its studios are located on 84th Street in Edmonton, while its transmitters are located in Southeast Edmonton. CHED is the flagship station of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, and broadcasts ''Oilers Now'', a daily talk show hosted by the team's radio colour analyst Bob Stauffer. Concordia Stingers Football
The Concordia Stingers football team represents Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec in the sport of Canadian football in the RSEQ conference of U Sports. The Concordia Stingers football program was created in 1974 from the amalgamation of the Loyola Warriors and Sir George Williams Georgians. The team has won three Dunsmore Cup conference championships, in 1982, 1993, and 1998. In 1998, the Stingers also made their first and only appearance in the national championship which was a loss to the Saskatchewan Huskies in the 34th Vanier Cup game. Tanner Green (born March 3, 1993) is a Canadian professional gridiron football fullback for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). University career Following high school, Green did not play football and had work as an industrial painter and in the oil field on pipelines. After four years away from the game, he joined a recreational team where teammates suggested that he play football in university. Green sent tape to several universities and opted to join the Concordia Stingers of U Sports football, where he played from 2016 to 2017. The Western Mustangs football team (also known as the Western Ontario Mustangs) represents the University of Western Ontario in Canadian university football. The Mustangs compete as a member of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA), under the U Sports association. Jordan Beaulieu (born September 27, 1993) is a professional Canadian football defensive back who is currently a free agent. He played U Sports football at Western University. The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks football team represents Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario in the sport of Canadian football in the Ontario University Athletics conference of U Sports. Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a professional Canadian football team based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. They are currently members of the East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
