2018 China Cup
The 2018 Gree China Cup International Football Championship (Chinese: 2018年格力中国杯国际足球锦标赛) was the second edition of the China Cup, an international football tournament held in China annually. It was played from 22 to 26 March 2018 in Nanning, Guangxi, China. The winning team was Uruguay, who beat Wales 1–0 in the final. Participating teams On 8 November 2017, it was announced that Czech Republic, Uruguay and Wales would participate in the 2018 China Cup. Mascot With 65,554 votes, Longbao was elected as the official mascot for the 2018 Gree China Cup International Football Championship. Longbao’s design was drawn from a Chinese dragon (Long), an essential cultural symbol of strength, good luck and auspicious powers. Nanning
Nanning (; ; za, Namzningz) is the capital and largest city by population of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Southern China. Marcello Romeo Lippi (; born 12 April 1948) is an Italian former professional football player and manager, who led the Italian national team to victory in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Fan Xiaodong (; born on March 2, 1987) is a Chinese professional footballer who currently plays for China League One club Zibo Cuju as a midfielder or left-back. Club career Shenzhen Jianlibao Fan Xiaodong started his professional football career when he joined Chinese Super League team Shenzhen Jianlibao in the 2005 league season. Feng Xiaoting (; born 22 October 1985) is a Chinese professional footballer who currently plays for Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua. Club career Feng Xiaoting started his football career with Sichuan Guancheng in the 2003 league season where he quickly established himself as a regular. Despite being only 17 years old, he captained them for several games, making him the youngest club captain in professional Chinese football. Li Xuepeng (; born 18 September 1988) is a Chinese footballer who currently plays for Guangzhou Evergrande in the Chinese Super League. Club career Li Xuepeng started his football career when he was promoted to Dalian Shide's first team in the 2007 season. Zheng Zheng (; born 11 July 1989) is a Chinese professional footballer who currently plays for Chinese Super League club Shandong Taishan. Club career Zheng Zheng started his football career playing with Shandong Luneng's youth academy and was promoted to the first team during the 2008 season, where despite not making an appearance for the team he would still receive a league title medal from the club.
