2017–18 Women's EHF Champions League
The 2017–18 EHF Champions League was the 25th edition of Europe's premier club handball tournament. Győri ETO defended their title by defeating HC Vardar in the final. Competition format 16 teams participated in the competition, divided in four groups who played in a round robin, home and away format. The top three teams in each group qualified for the main round ;Main round The 12 qualified teams were divided in four groups who played in a round robin, home and away format. The points gained against the qualified teams in the first round were carried over. The top four teams in each group qualified for the quarterfinals. ;Knockout stage After the quarterfinals, the culmination of the season, the VELUX EHF FINAL4, will continue in its existing format, with the four top teams from the competition competing for the title. Women's EHF Champions League
The Women's EHF Champions League is the competition for the top women's handball clubs in Europe, organised annually by the European Handball Federation (EHF). It is the most prestigious tournament for clubs, with the champions of Europe's top national leagues participating. Tournament structure Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 27 nations are allowed to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federations are allowed to request extra places or upgrades from the EHF Cup. The EHF Champions League is divided into five stages. Depending on the ranking of their national federation and of the criteria list, teams can enter the competition in either qualification or the group phase. Höörs HK H 65 is a Swedish women's handball club from Höör established in 1965, competing in the Swedish women's handball league, Handbollsligan, since 2011. In 2014 the team won the 2013–14 EHF Challenge Cup. History In 2011–2012, the team accessed to the Elitserien, the highest level in Sweden. In 2012–2013, the team takes part to the playoffs, eliminated by IK Sävehof in semifinals. They also reach the semifinals in the 2012–13 EHF Challenge Cup, beaten by Croatian team, ZRK Fantasyland Samobor. Vipers Kristiansand is a handball club from Kristiansand, Norway. They currently compete in REMA 1000-ligaen, the top division in the country, since its promotion in 2001. They claimed there first Norwegian Championship in 2018, defeating 18 times-in-a-row champions from Larvik HK. For the first time in the club's history, they qualified for the 2018–19 Women's EHF Final 4 in Budapest, where they took the 3rd place and a historic bronze medal. Rukometni Klub Podravka Koprivnica is a Croatian women's handball club from Koprivnica. It is the most successful club in Croatian women's handball since formation of the league in 1992. The team currently competes in the Croatia women's first handball league. They have a fan club called Red Roosters formed in 2002. History The club was established in 1955 under the name Ivo Marinković and played its first friendly match in December against Grafičar Bjelovar. Hypo Niederösterreich (Hypo NÖ) is an Austrian women's handball club, headquartered in Maria Enzersdorf. They are one of the most successful teams on the EHF Champions League, having won the title eight times. They are also former winners of the EHF Champions Trophy in 2000. Between 2011 and 2014, Hypo NÖ had a partnership with the Brazilian Handball Confederation, playing host to various players of the Brazil women's national handball team - including Alexandra Nascimento, who already played for Hypo since 2003 - and coach Morten Soubak.
