2017–18 Serie A (women)
The 2017–18 Serie A (women) was the 51st season of the women's football top level league in Italy. Fiorentina were the defending champions. Juventus won the league title in their first ever season. Teams Twelve teams will compete in the league, with many changes among the make up of the league compared to last season. Four teams were relegated at the end of the 2016-17 season. Jesina, Luserna and Chieti finished at the bottom of the league, with Como 2000 losing a relegation playoff to San Zaccaria. Reggiana won promotion from Serie B, but their license was taken over by Sassuolo. Other promoted teams were Empoli, Valpolicella and Pink Bari. Cuneo, who finished seventh in Serie A last season, sold their license to Juventus. League table Brescia sold their Serie A spot to AC Milan after the season, who created a women's team. Serie A (women's Football)
The Serie A (), also called Serie A Femminile TIM due to sponsorship by TIM, is the highest league of women's football in Italy. Established in 1968, it has been run by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) since the 2018–19 season, and currently features 10 teams. The most successful club in the league’s history is Torres, who have won seven times. The current Serie A champions are Juventus, who won each of the last four years. As of the 2021–22 edition, the Serie A is ranked ninth in the UEFA women's coefficient, and the top two teams qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League. The Serie A became fully-professional from the 2022–23 season, removing the salary cap and allowing teams to pay their players a higher wage. Lisa Boattin (born 3 May 1997) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a left back for Serie A club Juventus FC and the Italy women's national team. Abano Terme (known as Abano Bagni until 1924) is a town and ''comune'' in the Province of Padua, in the Veneto region, Italy, on the eastern slope of the Euganean Hills; it is southwest by rail from Padua.
