Senegal Premier League
Senegal Premier League is the top division of the Senegal Football Association, it was founded in 1966. The league also hosts a domestic cup, the Coupe de la Ligue. ASC Linguère
ASC Linguère is a Senegalese football club based in Saint-Louis. It plays in the second division in Senegalese football. Its home stadium is Stade de Linguère. Linguère is joint eighth in the number of major honours won in Senegal (five) with ASC Port Autonome of Dakar, Casa Sports of Ziguinchor and Djambars FC. History ASC Linguère was founded on 14 September 1969 after the merger of two clubs, Espoir de Saint-Louis and AS Saint-Louisienne. Before the merger, Espoir de Saint-Louis won its only title under French rule in 1957. After independence, the club won its only cup title in 1961. AS Saint-Louisienne won its only cup title five years later in 1966. Ligue 1 (Senegal) Seasons
Ligue 1, officially known as Ligue 1 Uber Eats for sponsorship reasons, is a French professional league for men's association football clubs. At top of the French football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Administered by the Ligue de Football Professionnel, Ligue 1 is contested by 18 clubs (as of the 2023–24 season) and operates on a system of promotion and relegation from and to Ligue 2. Seasons run from August to May. Clubs play two matches against each of the other teams in the league – one home and one away – totalling to 34 matches over the course of the season. Most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played during weekday evenings. Play is regularly suspended the last weekend before Christmas for two weeks before returning in the second week of January. Union Sportive Ouakam (estimate Wolof form: ''Wakaam''), abbreviation: USO is a Senegalese football (soccer), football club based in Dakar in the subdivision of Ouakam in the west of the city close to Cap-Vert, Cap Vert. They play in the top division in Senegalese football. Their home stadium is Stade Demba Diop. History The club was founded in the 1951 by el Hadji Moussa Diagne in the last decade of French rule in Senegal. After independence, Ouakam was becoming one of the top clubs in Senegal in the 1960s. Ouakam was suspended in the 1962-63 season and played in the second tier competition for some time which was the lowest level in Senegal before returning to top flight competition again. Diambars FC
Diambars FC de Saly is a football academy in Saly, Senegal, which plays in the Senegalese National League 1. It's also a part of Diambars, a non-profit organisation certified by UNESCO. History Diambars was founded in 2003 by former footballer Patrick Vieira and other players. Diambars started at the regional championships, after being the best in regional divisions, Diambars elevated to a professional status in 2009. Diambars came up to the national divisions, then to National 1, Diambars promoted itself to Ligue 2 and in 2011 promoted to Ligue 1 for the first time where they remain into the present day.
