2017–18 Nicholls State Colonels Women's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Nicholls State Colonels women's basketball team represented Nicholls State University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Colonels, led by tenth year head coach DoBee Plaisance, played their home games at Stopher Gym and were members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 19–13, 11–7 in Southland play to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place. They won their first Southland women's tournament and earns an automatic trip to their first NCAA women's tournament in school history where they lost in the first round to Mississippi State. Duncanville High School
Duncanville High School is a secondary school located in Duncanville, Texas, United States, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The school is a part of Duncanville Independent School District. The school includes grades 9 through 12. The high school campus is the second largest in the nation in terms of campus size. The district, and therefore the high school, serves almost all of the city of Duncanville, as well as portions of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and a small portion of southwest Dallas. Moody Coliseum
Moody Coliseum is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena in University Park, Texas (an inner suburb of Dallas). The arena opened in 1956. It is home to the Southern Methodist University Mustangs basketball teams and volleyball team. It was also home to the Dallas Chaparrals and Texas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association before they moved to San Antonio, Texas, as the San Antonio Spurs. It was also later the home for the Dallas Diamonds of the Women's Professional Basketball League. The 2017–18 SMU Mustangs women's basketball team will represent Southern Methodist University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Mustangs, led by second year head coach Travis Mays, play their home games at Moody Coliseum and are fifth year members of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 10–20, 4–12 in AAC play to finish in tenth place. They lost in the first round of the American Athletic women's tournament to East Carolina. History In 1969 Southdown High School (originally Houma Colored High School), which educated black students in Terrebonne Parish, closed.
