2017–18 Dayton Flyers Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 Dayton Flyers men's basketball team represented the University of Dayton during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Flyers were led by first-year head coach Anthony Grant and played their home games at the University of Dayton Arena as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 14–17, 8–10 in A-10 play to finish in ninth place. They lost in the second round of the A-10 tournament to VCU. Previous season The Flyers finished the 2016–17 season 24–8, 15–3 in A-10 play to win the regular season A-10 championship. They received the No. 1 seed in the A-10 tournament where they lost in the quarterfinals to Davidson. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the #7 seed in the South Region, where they lost in the first round to #10 Wichita State. Anthony Grant (basketball)
Anthony Duvale Grant (born April 15, 1966) is an American basketball coach who is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Dayton. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2006 to 2009, and at the University of Alabama from 2009 to 2015. Prior to becoming the VCU head coach, he was an assistant coach at the University of Florida from 1996 to 2006. Biography Early life After graduating from Miami Senior High School, Grant became an All-City first-team selection and Player-of-the-Year. He played at the University of Dayton from 1983 to 1987 while residing at 3 Evanston (The Gateway) and guiding them to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament before bowing out to eventual national champion Georgetown. As a sophomore, Grant averaged 10.7 points a game and 6.5 rebounds a game and the Flyers again made it to the NCAA Tournament. 2016-17 Wichita State Shockers Men's Basketball Team
16-17 is a band from Basel, Switzerland. Their music combines punk rock, hardcore punk, jazz and industrial music. Biography 16-17 was founded in 1983 by Alex Buess, Knut Remond and Markus Kneubühler. When the group played its first concerts in 1983 it was received with controversial reactions: there where hardly any groups that played in an approximately similar style. Only some years later around 1986 groups like Painkiller, Last Exit or The Flying Luttenbachers appeared . They played a similar mix of rough noise, heavily amplified instruments and free jazz inspired improvisation. 1983 to 1994 the group did a lot of tours and played many gigs all over Europe, Japan and USA. Pickerington, Ohio
Pickerington is a city in Fairfield County, Ohio, Fairfield and Franklin County, Ohio, Franklin counties in the central region of the U.S. state of Ohio. It was founded in 1815 as Jacksonville, named after Andrew Jackson. Dayshon "Scoochie" Smith (born November 11, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for Juventus Utena of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). He played college basketball for Dayton. College career Smith was given his unusual nickname by his grandfather. He averaged 3.6 points and 2.0 assists per game as a freshman at Dayton, playing as a backup to Khari Price. He improved his averages to 9.2 points and 3.8 assists per game as a sophomore. As a junior, he posted 11.7 points and 4.3 assists per game. Smith averaged 13.8 points and to 4.5 rebounds per game as a senior and shot 38.8 percent from 3-point range. He was named to the First-team All-Atlantic 10. Professional career After graduating from Dayton, Smith signed with the Cairns Taipans of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL).
