2017 World Championships In Athletics – Men's Triple Jump
The men's triple jump at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Olympic Stadium on 7 and 10 August. Summary In the first round of the final, Alexis Copello (Azerjaijan) was the first over 17 metres with a jump of 17.16 metres, and Will Claye (USA) took the lead with a 17.54 metre jump. In the second round, Nelson Évora (Portugal) moved into silver medal position, until Christian Taylor (USA) took the lead with a 17.57 metre jump. That lasted until Claye's next jump, 17.63 metres, which Taylor answered with a effort. None of the leaders were able to improve in the last three rounds. By the end of the competition, three jumpers had jumped 17.16 metres, their places settled by their second best jump, which in the case of Cristian Nápoles (CUB) was another 17.16 metres. Ken Lorraway
Kenneth ("Ken") John Lorraway (6 February 1956 – 4 January 2007) was an Australian triple jumper, who represented his native country twice at the Summer Olympics: 1980 and 1984 and Commonwealth Games: 1978 and 1982. His best Olympic result was finishing in 8th place in Moscow, USSR with a leap of 16.44 metres. He was born in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. He attended Watson High School in Canberra and participated in junior athletics with the North Canberra Athletic Club. Between 1974 and 1978, he attended the Southern Illinois University in the United States on an athletic scholarship. In 1978, he was selected as an All American. Jadel Abdul Ghani Gregório (born 16 September 1980 in Jandaia do Sul, Paraná) is a Brazilian athlete competing in long jump and triple jump.
