2017 Uzbek League
The 2017 Uzbek League was the 26th season of top level football in Uzbekistan since 1992. Lokomotiv Tashkent were the defending champions from the 2016 campaign. Teams Navbahor Namangan PFC. Uzbekistan Super League ( uz, O'zbekiston Superligasi), also called Coca-Cola Uzbekistan Super League due to sponsorship reasons ( uz, Coca-Cola O'zbekiston Superligasi / Coca-Cola Ўзбекистон Суперлигаси), is the top division of professional football in Uzbekistan. It is operated under the auspices of the Uzbekistan Professional Football League and Uzbekistan Football Association. It was founded in 1992 and currently played with 14 teams. FC Shurtan Guzar
FC Shurtan Guzar ( uz, Sho'rtan G'uzor professional futbol klubi or Шўртан Ғузор футбол клуби) is an Uzbek football club based in G‘uzor, Uzbekistan. History During its first years the club played in the lower divisions of Uzbekistan. In 2006 FC Shurtan made its debut in the Uzbek League. The 2010 season was the club's most successful season when they finished 4th in the league and were runners-up in the Uzbek Cup. In the quarter-final of the Uzbek Cup they beat Pakhtakor on aggregate and Lokomotiv Tashkent in the semi-final. Shurtan lost in the Final match, played in Tashkent, to Bunyodkor. The final score was 0–1. In 2011 Shurtan made its international debut, playing in the AFC Cup. The club managed 2nd place in the group stage, but lost in their one legged round of 16 match against Al Wehdat. The final score being 1–2. Bukhara ( Uzbek: /, ; tg, Бухоро, ) is the seventh-largest city in Uzbekistan, with a population of 280,187 , and the capital of Bukhara Region. Ulugbek Bakayev ( uz, Улуғбек Бақоев, Ulug`bek Baqoyev, russian: Улугбек Бакаев) (born 28 November 1978) is a former Uzbekistani footballer and current manager of FC Sogdiana Jizzakh. Career Bakayev played spent most of his career with Kazakhstan football clubs. Playing in the Kazakhstan Premier League, he scored a total of 111 goals (as of 12 July 2014) and became the league's top scorer four times . From 2012 to 2014 he played for Irtysh Pavlodar. In 2012, he became best goal scorer of League with 14 goals and was named Footballer of the Year in Kazakhstan. In August 2014 he signed a contract with his former club FK Buxoro. The Milliy Stadium ( uz, Milliy stadioni) is a football stadium in the city of Tashkent — the capital of Uzbekistan. Located in Chilanzar District of Tashkent, on Bunyodkor Avenue. It seats 34,000 spectators, thus becoming the second largest stadium in Uzbekistan after the Pakhtakor Stadium, which seats 35,000 spectators. It is the home arena of the FC Bunyodkor and Uzbekistan national football team. From its opening in September 2012 until June 2018, the stadium was called "Bunyodkor Stadium". Mirjalol Kushakovich Qosimov ( uz, Mirjalol Qoʻshoqovich Qosimov, russian: Мирджалол Кушакович Касымов; in English also: Mirdjalal Kasimov or Kasymov) (born 17 September 1970) is a former head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team. He also played for the national team as a playmaker. Qosimov is currently the manager of AGMK.
