The 2017 United States Men's Curling Championship was held from February 11 to 18 at the Xfinity Arena in Everett, Washington. It was held in conjunction with the 2017 United States Women's Curling Championship. Teams Ten teams qualified to participate in the 2017 national championship. Everett, Washington
Everett is the county seat and largest city of Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is north of Seattle and is one of the main cities in the metropolitan area and the Puget Sound region. Everett is the seventh-largest city in the state by population, with 110,629 residents as of the 2020 census. The city is primarily situated on a peninsula at the mouth of the Snohomish River along Port Gardner Bay, an inlet of Possession Sound (itself part of Puget Sound), and extends to the south and west. Craig Brown (curler)
Craig Brown (born August 18, 1975) is an American curler. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, he is one of the top skips in the U.S. He was the skip of the 2000 and 2008 U.S. champion rinks. At the 2000 Ford World Curling Championships, Brown skipped the U.S. team to a fourth-place finish, losing to Finland in the final. Brown played third on the U.S. team at three World Junior Curling Championships (1994, 1995, 1997). Mike Peplinski skipped the team in 1994 and 1995, while Matt Stevens skipped the team in 1997. Brown won the bronze medal with Peplinski in 1994. At the 2014 Olympics, Brown played as alternate for the USA team. Brown attended La Follette High School and is employed by Steve's Curling Supplies. Jared Zezel
Jared Zezel (born March 4, 1991) is an American curler. He competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Career At the 2013 United States Olympic Curling Trials Zezel was part of the first place team. At the qualification event for the 2014 Winter Olympics, Zezel's team won the second qualifier 8–5 over the Czech Republic to take the final 2014 Olympic qualification spot. Pete Fenson
Peter Fenson (born February 29, 1968 in Bemidji, Minnesota) is an American curler. He was the skip of the men's rink that represented the United States at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where they won the bronze medal, the first Olympic medal for the United States in curling. He has won eight national championships, the most recent in Philadelphia in March 2014, and six as skip. Career Fenson took up curling at age 13; his father, Bob Fenson, won the 1979 national championships and is now the coach of Pete's rink. Pete Fenson was a third on the national champion rinks in 1993 and 1994, and his rink, skipped by Scott Baird, made it to the semifinals of the 1993 World Curling Championship and placed fifth in 1994. Philip "Phil" Tilker (born April 18, 1977, in Bracebridge, Ontario) is a Canadian-American curler. He was a member of Team USA at the World Men's Curling Championship in 2013 and 2018. Tilker played lead on the Brady Clark rink from 2012 to 2017, and has played in the same position on the Rich Ruohonen rink since then. Colin Hufman (born May 15, 1984) is an American curler. He was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, and resides in Seattle. He has been a USA Curling Board member since August 2017 and USA Curling Athlete Representative for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee Athletes Advisory Council since December 2020. Career In 2002, Hufman won the United States Junior Championship, playing third for Leo Johnson's team. Brady Clark (born September 12, 1977) is an American curler from Lynnwood, Washington. Clark is a ten-time national mixed champion, three-time national mixed doubles champion, and two-time national men's champion (2013 & 2016). He has played in three World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships and one World Men's Championship. Career As a junior, Clark played in five national junior championships, placing 3rd in 1998 and 1999. He also won the National College Tournament in 1999.
