Ugandan Cup , Uganda Cup 2017-18 was the 43rd edition of the main Ugandan Association football, football Cup. Format The competition had 64 teams, of which the teams in the Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League qualified automatically for the first round. The other teams were filled out through a series of regional competitions. The competition ran between January 20 and June 15. Overview The competition was won by KCCA FC who defeated Paidha Black Angels 2-0 in the final, held in Arua, Uganda, Arua. KCCA FC
Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (Abbreviated as KCCA FC) and also known as Kampala City , is a Ugandan football club based in Kampala, the largest city and capital of Uganda. Kampala City Council was rebranded to Kampala Capital City Authority and the club title has been changed accordingly. Many sources and news reports still refer to the club's traditional title, Kampala City Council Football Club, abbreviated as KCC. History The club was founded on 12 April 1963 by Samuel Wamala, who was head of the Council's Sewage Works section in the City Engineering Department. The club initially was dominated by casual workers in the sewage section but subsequently expanded to cover all departments within Kampala City Council. Paidha Black Angels
Paidha Black Angels FC is a football team from Paidha, Zombo District, in the West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda. It competed in the 2018-19 Uganda Premier League. History Black Angels played the 2018–19 season in the Uganda Premier League after their promotion in the 2017/2018 season. They only managed two wins in their first 26 games and were the first team to have their relegation confirmed. Black Angels, managed by Allan Kabonge, won the 2017/2018 FUFA Big League promotion playoff to qualify for the top flight. The Ugandan Premier League, also known as the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations. The league was previously known as the Uganda Super League but changed in the 2014–15 season after new management taking over. FUFA Big League
The Ugandan Big League is the second tier of Ugandan football pyramid. History Original concept The concept of re-structuring Ugandan football with the creation of a new second tier league was first mooted in October 2008 by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations. The idea that was single-handedly promoted by Eng. Moses Magogo was ridiculed, resisted, and fought by everyone. Although Magogo felt abandoned but he was buoyed by the inaugural clubs that were determined to proceed. Eventually out of persistence, Magogo won one by one convert and eventually the league was passed by the FUFA Executive Committee. The new national second division league, known as the FUFA Big League (FBL), was to cater for leading sides in the five regions.
