2017 US Darts Masters
The 2017 partypoker US Darts Masters was the inaugural staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, as a third entry in the 2017 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured eight North American players who faced eight PDC players, which was held at the Tropicana Las Vegas in Las Vegas, United States from 14–15 July 2017. Michael van Gerwen became the champion, defeating Daryl Gurney 8–6 in the final to win his first title in Vegas. Prize money This is how the prize money is divided: Qualifiers Adrian Lewis and Phil Taylor were both originally scheduled to take part but both withdrew. Lewis was replaced by Gerwyn Price, whilst Taylor was replaced by World Number six James Wade. The World Series of Darts is a series of darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. Beginning in 2013, the World Series has comprised between two and seven tournaments across the world, where a mixture of the top-ranked PDC players take on local qualifiers in a knockout format. Peter Wright (born 10 March 1970) is a Scottish professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. Nicknamed "Snakebite", he is a two-time world champion, having won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2020 and 2022. He is also a World Matchplay champion and has been ranked as the World No. 1 in the PDC twice (both times occurring in 2022). Dawson Murschell (born 23 November 1995) is a Canadian former professional darts player who played in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events from 2017 to 2019. Career Murschell first appeared in a televised darts tournament in 2017, when he took part in the North American Championship, defeating David Cameron, before losing to eventual winner, Willard Bruguier. David Cameron (born 15 September 1969) is a Canadian professional darts player, who mainly competes in the World Darts Federation tournaments. He is the first and сurrent 2022 World Seniors Darts Masters champion and triple Canadian champion.
