2017 Thüringen Rundfahrt Der Frauen
The 2017 Thüringen Rundfahrt der Frauen (also known as the Internationalen LOTTO Thüringen Ladies Tour for sponsorship reasons) was the 30th edition of the Thüringen Rundfahrt der Frauen, a women's cycling stage race in Germany. It was rated by the UCI as a category 2.1 race and was held between 12 and 18 July 2017. The race was won by home rider Lisa Brennauer (), who regained the race lead from 's Hayley Simmonds after the fourth stage individual time trial. Brennauer finished 19 seconds clear of Ellen van Dijk, who was racing for a Netherlands national team, while Simmonds completed the podium, a further 16 seconds in arrears. Other classification wins were taken by Eugenia Bujak (; points), Tayler Wiles (; mountains) and Emma White (United States national team; youth), while the teams classification was won by . Lisa Brennauer
Lisa Brennauer (born 8 June 1988) is a German former Cycle sport, racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2009 and 2022, for six different teams. On the track, Brennauer won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Cycling at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's team pursuit, women's team pursuit with Mieke Kröger, Lisa Klein (cyclist), Lisa Klein and Franziska Brauße, setting the new world record. She also won two gold medals at the 2021 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, and four gold medals over three different UEC European Track Championships. Weimar is a city in the state of Thuringia, Germany. Tiffany Jane Cromwell (born 6 July 1988) is an Australian road and gravel cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Career Road Junior career Starting in 2002, after being identified by the South Australian sports institute talent identification program, Cromwell began her cycling career. Cycling was not the first sport Cromwell picked up, having done ballet, running, triathlons and basketball beforehand, the last of which she had family ties to. Despite an interest in pursuing basketball as a career before cycling, Cromwell admits her height 'always let erdown'. Initially, Cromwell disliked cycling, citing that she was 'Tiny and one of the worst in ergroup' on the track, but soon discovered her love for the sport when she placed third in her first road race in the state championships. An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT).
