2017 Rugby League World Cup Squads
The 2017 Rugby League World Cup featured fourteen international teams, with each consisting of a twenty-four-man squad. Pool A Australia Head coach: Mal Meninga Australia's 24-man squad is composed entirely of players who play in the National Rugby League, NRL. In the days following the initial squad announcement, Andrew Fifita withdrew from the squad in order to represent Tonga national rugby league team, Tonga while Darius Boyd withdrew due to an ongoing hamstring injury. 2017 Rugby League World Cup
The 2017 Rugby League World Cup was the fifteenth staging of the Rugby League World Cup tournament and took place in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea between 27 October and 2 December 2017. The tournament featured the national teams of 14 Rugby League International Federation member countries who qualified through either standing in the previous tournament or a series of qualification play-off matches. In the final, defending champions Australia, playing in their 14th consecutive final, defeated England at Brisbane's Lang Park. The 2017 Pacific Rugby League Tests, known commercially as the Mesh & Bar Pacific Tests, are a group of rugby league test matches that were played on 6 May 2017 at Campbelltown Stadium in Sydney, Australia. Papua New Guinea played against the Cook Islands; Fiji against Tonga; and England against Samoa. The triple header at the 20,000 capacity Campbelltown Stadium attracted an almost capacity crowd of 18,271.
