2017 Regions Tradition
The 2017 Regions Tradition was a senior major golf championship and the 29th Regions Tradition, held from May 18–21 at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Hoover, Alabama. It was the second Regions Tradition played at the course. World Golf Hall of Fame member Bernhard Langer won his second consecutive Regions Tradition and his eighth senior major championship by five strokes over Scott McCarron and Scott Parel. Hoover, Alabama
Hoover is a city in Jefferson and Shelby counties in north central Alabama, United States. Hoover is the largest suburban city in Alabama and the 6th largest city in Alabama. Miguel Ángel Jiménez
Miguel Ángel Jiménez Rodríguez (born 5 January 1964) is a Spanish professional golfer. He has won 21 times on the European Tour and has been a member of two victorious Ryder Cup teams. Early years Born in Málaga in southern Spain, Jiménez first played on the European Tour in 1988 and improved steadily over the next few seasons. His first win on the tour came at the Piaget Belgian Open in 1992. During a fairly up and down career, he has so far had four main periods of success. Brian Henninger
Brian Hatfield Henninger (born October 19, 1962) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. He has won two tournaments on the PGA Tour and three on the Nationwide Tour. Early life Henninger was born in Sacramento, California. He attended the University of Southern California and walked on to the golf team there. Professional career Henninger turned pro in 1987, playing on the developmental Golden State Golf Tour. After winning three tournaments on the Nationwide Tour in 1992, he joined the PGA Tour in 1993. Billy Mayfair
William Fred Mayfair (born August 6, 1966) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Early years and amateur career Mayfair was born in Phoenix, Arizona. Before his fifteenth birthday, he won numerous junior golf tournaments. In 1981, he was on the cover of ''Boys' Life'' magazine as "golf's junior hotshot". He attended Arizona State University and was a member of the golf team. Glen Day
Glen Edward Day (born November 16, 1965) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He was formerly a member of the PGA Tour. Day was born in Mobile, Alabama, and raised in Poplarville, Mississippi, by his mother Jeanne Bass Day. Jeanne was widowed at the age of 28 when Glen was approximately 2 years of age. His grandfather Glyndol Bass, was young Glen's primary male role model. Bass, an avid golfer and member at Pearl River Valley Country Club just outside Poplarville, started Glen playing golf when he was 2 to 3 years of age. David Toms
David Wayne Toms (born January 4, 1967) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. From 1992 to 2017, Toms was a member of the PGA Tour, where he won 13 events, including one major, the 2001 PGA Championship. He was in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking for 175 weeks between 2001 and 2006, and ranked as high as fifth in 2002 and 2003. Rod Spittle
Rod Spittle (born 18 July 1955) is a Canadian professional golfer. Spittle was born in St. Catharines, Ontario. He played college golf at Ohio State University where his teammates included John Cook and Joey Sindelar. He won the Canadian Amateur in 1977 and 1978. After graduating in 1978, with a degree in Business Administration, he did not turn professional in golf, instead choosing to sell insurance, which he did for 25 years. He moved to Ohio, and played amateur golf at a high standard during this period. Spittle turned professional in 2004, shortly before turning 50. He began playing on the Champions Tour in 2005. Thomas Edward Lehman (born March 7, 1959) is an American professional golfer. A former number 1 ranked golfer, his tournament wins include one major title, the 1996 Open Championship; and he is the only golfer in history to have been awarded the Player of the Year honor on all three PGA Tours: the regular PGA Tour, the Web.com Tour and the PGA Tour Champions. Kevin Sutherland
Kevin John Sutherland (born July 4, 1964) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. Sutherland was born in Sacramento, California and graduated from Christian Brothers High School. He attended Fresno State University and made the golf team as a walk-on freshman. Teased by his teammates for his unorthodox swing and unusual grip, he silenced his peers as he gained All-American status twice in his four years at Fresno State and became the most successful player ever to have spent time there. Fred Funk
Frederick Funk (born June 14, 1956) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. Early life Fred Funk was born in Takoma Park, Maryland. He tried several sports, and even boxed for eight years for a junior boys club. He played on the golf team at High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland. Funk went to the University of Maryland, College Park, but was cut from the golf team in 1975. He transferred to Prince George's Community College, then returned to UM two years later to earn a top spot with the Terrapins golf team. David Laurence Frost (born 11 September 1959) is a South African professional golfer who was ranked in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Marco Dawson
Marco Dawson (born November 17, 1963) is an American professional golfer who now plays on the PGA Tour Champions, having previously played on the PGA Tour. He won the 2015 Senior Open Championship. Dawson was born on a United States military base in Freising, Germany. He attended Florida Southern College, graduating in 1985, when turned professional.
