2017 Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2017 Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament is the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Northeast Conference. The tournament is being held from March 1–7, 2017. All games of the tournament took place on campus sites hosted by the higher-seeded school. The winner, Mount St. Mary's, earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA tournament with a 71-61 win over St. Francis (PA) in the finals. Seeds For the 13th straight year, the NEC Men’s Basketball Tournament consists of an eight-team playoff format with all games played at the home of the higher seed. After the quarterfinals, the teams will be reseeded so the highest remaining seed plays the lowest remaining seed in the semifinals. The teams were seeded by record in conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in basketball for the Northeast Conference (NEC). It has been held every year since the NEC was established in the 1981–82 season. The tournament is an eight-team single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. The bracket is reseeded after the quarterfinals, with the highest remaining seed playing the lowest remaining seed in the semifinals. The tournament winner receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA basketball tournament. Mebane is a city located mostly in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States, and partly in Orange County. Steve Lamont "Junior" Robinson jr (born February 15, 1996) is an American basketball player for Kipinä Basket of the 1st Division B. He played college basketball for Mount St. Mary's. He was born in Mebane, North Carolina. College career Robinson, a 5'5 guard, attended Eastern Alamance High School and scored 2,228 points in his career, 17th in North Carolina high school history. Despite being one of the shortest players in college basketball, he averaged 8.2 points per game as a freshman and was named to the NEC all-rookie team. 2016–17 Sacred Heart Pioneers Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Sacred Heart Pioneers men's basketball team represented Sacred Heart University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was the Pioneers' 18th season of NCAA Division I basketball, all played in the Northeast Conference. The Pioneers were led by fourth-year head coach Anthony Latina and played their home games at the William H. Pitt Center in Fairfield, Connecticut. Jamion Christian
Jamion Christian (born April 18, 1982) is an American college basketball coach, who was most recently the head coach of the George Washington Colonials men's basketball team. He previously was the head coach at Siena and Mount St. Mary's. Biography Christian was born and raised in Quinton, Virginia. As a shooting guard, he led New Kent High School to a Virginia High School League State Championship with a 26–0 record and earned the VHSL Group A State Player of the Year honors. Christian then became a shooting guard and a three-year captain for Mount St. Mary's under head coaches Jim Phelan and Milan Brown. Christian has a strong pedigree in athletics, Christian's father, John, was a standout track athlete at Virginia State University.
