2017 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships
The 2017 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships was the 79th annual NCAA Men's Division I Cross Country Championship and the 37th annual NCAA Women's Division I Cross Country Championship to determine the team and individual national champions of NCAA Division I men's and women's collegiate cross country running in the United States. In all, four different titles will be contested: men's and women's individual and team championships. Held on November 18, 2017, the combined meet was hosted by the University of Louisville at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The distance for the men's race was 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) while the distance for the women's race was 6 kilometers (3.73 miles). Furman Paladins
The Furman Paladins are the varsity athletic teams representing Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, in intercollegiate athletics. Furman competes in NCAA Division I athletics and is one of the smallest NCAA Division I schools in the nation. The university sponsors sixteen teams including football, women's lacrosse, men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, softball, track and field, and volleyball; and recently discontinued baseball and men's lacrosse. Charlotte 49ers
The Charlotte 49ers are the intercollegiate athletics teams that represent the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 49ers compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level as a member of Conference USA (C-USA) in most sports. The men's soccer team joined the American Athletic Conference in July 2022, one year before the rest of the athletic program joins The American. The university sponsors 18 varsity athletic teams, nine for each gender, and will also be adding a women's lacrosse team in the 2024–25 school year. The Boise State Broncos are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Boise State University, located in Boise, Idaho. Allison "Allie" Ostrander (born December 24, 1996) is an American long-distance runner from Soldotna, Alaska. The repeat NCAA Division I steeplechase champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019, she competed for the Boise State University Broncos. In July 2019, Ostrander announced her plans to forgo her final season of NCAA eligibility and begin running professionally. Amy-Eloise Neale OLY (formerly Markovc; born 5 August 1995) is a British middle- and long-distance runner. She won the gold medal in the 3000 metres at the 2021 European Indoor Championships. The Washington Huskies are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Washington, located in Seattle.
