2017 BYU Cougars Baseball Team
The 2017 BYU Cougars baseball team represents Brigham Young University in the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball season. Mike Littlewood acts in his fifth season as head coach of the Cougars. BYU was picked to finish fourth in the WCC Pre-season rankings. The Cougars would overcome all expectations and claim a tri-team championship in the regular season. Afterwards the Cougars would win the West Coast Conference tournament for the first time in their history, claiming the conferences automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, the Cougars first tournament berth since 2002. The Cougars were placed in the Stanford Regional where they would go 1–2. Mike Littlewood
Michael Rory Littlewood is an American baseball coach. He played college baseball at BYU from 1985 to 1988, before playing professionally in 1988. He then served as the head coach of then ''Dixie State Rebels'' (later called "Red Storm", now Utah Tech Trailblazers) from 1996-2012, and then the BYU Cougars (2013–2022.) Playing career Littlewood was a third baseman at BYU, earning All-Conference as both a junior and senior. He was drafted in the 27th round of the 1988 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and played one season at Class-A Beloit Brewers. Coaching career Shortly after his playing career ended, Littlewood accepted the head coaching position at Alta High School in Sandy, Utah. He remained for three seasons before moving to Dixie State, then a junior college in St. George, Utah. Stillwell Stadium
The Kennesaw State Owls fields 17 varsity athletics teams, competing for Kennesaw State University. After spending ten years in Division II's Peach Belt Conference, the university fully transitioned to Division I status in the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the beginning of the 2009–10 season. All of Kennesaw State's sports teams compete in the ASUN Conference through the 2023–24 school year. In July 2023, KSU will start a transition to the Football Bowl Subdivision in advance of its move to Conference USA (C-USA) in July 2024. Of its 18 varsity sports, only women's lacrosse is not sponsored by C-USA. The school mascot is Scrappy the Owl. New Mexico State Aggies
The New Mexico State University teams are called the Aggies, a nickname derived from the university's agricultural beginnings. The mascot is known as " Pistol Pete". NMSU's colors are crimson and white. Since 2005 the Aggies have competed in the Western Athletic Conference in all men's and women's sports with the exception of football in which the Aggies have been Independent since 2018. BYU TV (stylized as BYUtv) is a television channel, founded in 2000, which is owned and operated as a part of Brigham Young University (BYU). The channel, available through cable and satellite distributors in the United States, produces a number of original series and documentaries with emphases in comedy, history, lifestyle, music and drama. BYUtv also regularly broadcasts feature films, nature documentaries, acquired medical/crime dramas and religious programs (consistent with the university's sponsoring organization, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). Campus Insiders
Campus Insiders was a college sports website and internet television service. It was owned by a joint venture between IMG College and Silver Chalice. The service was oriented towards live streaming of U.S. college sports, streaming live and replay broadcasts of events from selected conferences that are not picked up for television, as well as other original content. It was based out of studios in Chicago, Illinois in the former Harpo Studios building, alongside sister operation 120 Sports. On April 13, 2017, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Silver Chalice, and 120 Sports announced that they would merge Campus Insiders, 120 Sports, and Sinclair's syndication service and linear digital television channel American Sports Network into a new multi-platform service known as Stadium. UC Santa Barbara Gauchos
The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are the intercollegiate athletic teams who represent the University of California, Santa Barbara. Referred to in athletic competition as ''UC Santa Barbara'' or ''UCSB'', the Gauchos participate in 19 NCAA Division I intercollegiate sports with the majority competing in the Big West Conference. Hardt Field
Hardt Field, also known in development as the Roadrunner Baseball Complex, is a baseball stadium in Bakersfield, California, United States. It is the home field of the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners baseball team. The stadium is located in the south-west section of the campus of Cal State Bakersfield. The stadium was named for Tom and Barbara Hardt. The Hardt Family Trust's $1 million gift and donation of general contracting work supported the construction of the on campus baseball training and playing facility. The first game played in Hardt Field was the inaugural game for the Cal State Bakersfield baseball team on February 20, 2009, between CSUB and Saint Louis Billikens baseball, Saint Louis, with the Billikens beating the Roadrunners 8–7 before a sold-out crowd.
