2016–17 TSG 1899 Hoffenheim Season
The 2016–17 TSG 1899 Hoffenheim season is the 118th season in the football club's history and 9th consecutive and overall season in the top flight of German football, the Bundesliga, having been promoted from the 2. Bundesliga in 2008. 1899 Hoffenheim will also participate in this season's edition of the domestic cup, the DFB-Pokal. It is the 8th season for Hoffenheim in the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena, located in Sinsheim, Germany. The season covers a period from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2017. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim
Turn- und Sportgemeinschaft 1899 Hoffenheim e.V., or simply TSG 1899 Hoffenheim or just Hoffenheim () is a German professional football club based in Hoffenheim, a village of Sinsheim municipality, Baden-Württemberg. Originally founded in 1899 as a gymnastics club, Hoffenheim came into being in its modern form in 1945. A fifth division side in 2000, the club rapidly advanced through the German football league system with the financial backing of alumnus and software mogul Dietmar Hopp, and in 2008 Hoffenheim was promoted to the top tier Bundesliga. Pirmin Schwegler (born 9 March 1987) is a retired Swiss association football, footballer. Career Schwegler began his career with FC Luzern. In summer 2005, he joined BSC Young Boys, Young Boys. Jeremy Isaiah Richard Toljan (; born 8 August 1994) is a German professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Serie A club Sassuolo. Sandro Wagner (; born 29 November 1987) is a German football manager and former professional footballer who played as a striker. He is the head coach of Regionalliga Bayern side SpVgg Unterhaching.
