2016–17 Primera B Nacional
The 2016–17 Argentine Primera B Nacional was the 32nd season of the Argentine second division. The season began in August 2016 and ended in July 2017. Twenty-three teams competed in the league, twenty returning from the 2016 season, one team that was relegated from Primera División and two teams promoted from Federal A and B Metropolitana. Competition format The league's format changed from the previous season. Twenty-three teams which played each other twice for a total of forty-four matches each. Primera B Nacional
Primera Nacional (usually called simply Nacional B, in English "National B Division", and known as Primera B Nacional until the 2019–20 season) is the second division of the Argentine football league system. The competition is made up of 37 teams. It is played by teams from all over the country. Clubs from Buenos Aires surroundings, as well as some from Santa Fe Province, are promoted from or relegated to the Primera B Metropolitana ("Metropolitan B Division") while for teams from the other provinces the Torneo Federal A ("Federal A Tournament") is the next level down. In Argentine football, Nacional B is the second-highest league, and from it, the three best teams are automatically promoted to Primera División. Club Atlético Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy , (usually known as Gimnasia de Jujuy or just GEJ) is an Argentine sports club based in San Salvador de Jujuy, Jujuy Province. Club Atlético Los Andes
Club Atlético Los Andes is an Argentine sports club based in the Lomas de Zamora district of Greater Buenos Aires. The football team currently plays in the Primera B, the third division of the Argentine football league system. The club was founded by a group of young people in 1917, and its name was chosen to commemorate the first balloon flight across the Andes mountain, which had happened in 1916. Los Andes has had three runs in the Argentine Primera División: the first was in 1961, the second time was between the 1968 and 1971 Metropolitano championships. Club Ferro Carril Oeste, known simply as Ferro Carril Oeste or familiarly, Ferro, is an Argentine sports club from the neighbourhood of Caballito, Buenos Aires. Club Atlético Brown (mostly known as Brown de Adrogué) is an Argentine football club from the Adrogué neighborhood in Greater Buenos Aires. The team currently plays in Primera B Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system. History The club was formed in 1945 as a multidisciplinary sports club. Brown, which has never played in Primera División, reached its highest league position in the 1999–00 season, finishing in 1st place in Primera B Metropolitana tournament, but could not promote to Primera B Nacional, being defeated in the play-off semi-final. Club Almagro is an Argentine sports club from José Ingenieros, Buenos Aires, although its headquarters are in the Almagro district. The football team currently plays in the Primera Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system. Due to a financial crisis, the club was named "Club Atlético Campana" between 1993 and February 2000, after which it reassumed its original and current name.
