2016–17 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Women's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team represented the University of Notre Dame during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Fighting Irish, led by thirtieth year head coach Muffet McGraw, play their home games at Edmund P. Joyce Center and were fourth year members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They finished the season with 33–4, 15–1 in ACC play to win both of the ACC Regular Season and Tournament for the fourth year in a row. They earned an automatic bid to the NCAA women's tournament where they defeated Robert Morris and Purdue in the first and second rounds, respectively. The Irish women defeated Ohio State in the sweet sixteen before losing in a rematch of last year's sweet sixteen to Stanford in the elite eight. Muffet McGraw
Ann "Muffet" McGraw (born December 5, 1955) is an American former college basketball coach, who served as the head women's basketball coach at Notre Dame from 1987 to 2020, compiling a 848–252 (.771) record over 33 seasons. She led her team to nine Final Fours (1997, 2001, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019), seven championship game appearances (2001, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019), and two National Championships in 2001 and 2018. McGraw was the sixth different Division I coach to win multiple NCAA titles, joining Geno Auriemma, Pat Summitt, Linda Sharp, Tara VanDerveer and Kim Mulkey McGraw was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Saint Joseph's University and briefly played professionally for the California Dreams of the Women's Professional Basketball League. Kettering Fairmont High School is located in Kettering, Ohio, United States. It is home to approximately 2,500 students, making it the 6th largest high school in Ohio. History The original school was part of the Van Buren Township Schools and was opened in September 1906. The high school was located on Dorothy Lane just west of Far Hills Avenue. Kettering is a city in Montgomery county in the U.S. state of Ohio. Almost entirely in Montgomery County, it is an inner suburb of Dayton, Ohio. Divine Savior Holy Angels High School (DSHA) is an all-girls Roman Catholic Church, Roman Catholic high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Hodgenville is a home rule-class city in LaRue County, Kentucky, United States. It is the seat of its county. Hodgenville sits along the North Fork of the Nolin River.
