2016–17 Czech First League
The 2016–17 Czech First League, known as the ePojisteni.cz liga for sponsorship reasons, was the 24th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football league. Slavia Prague won the league, while defending champions Viktoria Plzeň finished in second place. The season began on 29 July 2016 and ended on 27 May 2017. Czech First League
The Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, is a Czech professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Czech football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Seasons typically run from August to May, most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays with few games played on Fridays. All Fortuna liga clubs qualify for the Czech Cup. The history of the Czech football league began with its reorganization for the 1993–94 season following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and therefore the league became the successor of the Czechoslovak League. Thirty-five clubs have competed in the Fortuna liga since its founding. Sparta Prague has won the title 12 times, the most among Czech clubs. MFK Karviná
MFK Karviná is a football club located in Karviná, Czech Republic. It plays in the Czech National Football League. The club took part in the Czech First League in 2016–2022. The team's colours are green and white. Karviná (; pl, Karwina, , german: Karwin) is a city in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 50,000 inhabitants. Jablonec Nad Nisou
Jablonec nad Nisou (; german: Gablonz an der Neiße) is a city in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 45,000 inhabitants. It is the second-largest city in the region. Všesportovní Stadion
Všesportovní stadion was a multi-purpose stadium in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. It was used mostly for football matches as the home stadium of FC Hradec Králové. The stadium was opened on 11 May 1966. When Hradec were promoted to the Czech First League in 2010, the capacity of the stadium was set to be reduced to 4,000, as league rules determine the capacity to be the number of separate seats. In time for the opening game of the 2010–11 Czech First League, the capacity was increased to 6,000. In the 2011–12 Czech First League, the capacity was increased to 7,220. The stadium was set to be demolished in 2017 and replaced with a new stadium Malšovická aréna with an increased capacity and suitability for Czech Republic national football team, Czech national team matches. Stadion Juliska is a multi-use stadium in Prague-Dejvice, Czech Republic. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Dukla Prague. The stadium is also used for athletics events, including the annual Josef Odložil Memorial. The stadium seats 8,150 people on individual seats. In 2012 a statue of former Dukla player and European Footballer of the Year 1962 Josef Masopust was unveiled outside the stadium. Ďolíček
Ďolíček Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Prague district Vršovice, Czech Republic. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Bohemians Praha 1905 and FK Pardubice. The stadium was opened on 27 March 1932 for a match against SK Slavia Prague. The reconstruction of 2003 changed the capacity to 13,388 (3,028 seated). After reconstruction in summer 2007, its capacity was reduced to 9,000 (3,800 seated). Bohemians 1905 were not allowed to keep the stand sector, they changed it into seats, which reduced the capacity further, to 7,500 (all seated). In the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons, Bohemians played its home matches at Synot Tip Arena, and Ďolíček was only used for the Bohemians 1905 "B" team. Bohemians 1905
Bohemians Praha 1905 (previously named FC Bohemians Praha) is a Prague-based football club, which was founded in 1905 as AFK Vršovice. The club won the 1982–83 Czechoslovak First League, its only league championship. Its colours are green and white. The best known player from Bohemians' history is Antonín Panenka, who is now the club chairman. Bohemians' mascot is a kangaroo, the legacy of a 1927 tour of Australia. Following the tour, the club was awarded two live kangaroos, which they donated to the Prague Zoo.
