2016–17 Boston Pride Season
The 2016–17 Boston Pride season was the second in franchise history. Offseason During the offseason the Pride moved the Warrior Ice Arena which is also the home to the Boston Bruins from the Bright-Landry Hockey Center where they won the 2016 Isobel Championship. Newly acquired Alex Carpenter signed with the Boston Pride for a one-year, $19,500 contract, making her the highest paid player of the 2015 NWHL Draft class. Hayley Moore
Hayley Marie Moore (born August 4, 1986) is an American ice hockey executive and former player, currently the vice president of hockey operations of the American Hockey League (AHL). She previously served as the deputy commissioner of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) from 2017 to 2019, general manager of the Boston Pride of the NWHL from 2015 to 2017, and president of the Boston Pride from 2019 to 2021. Playing career NCAA From 2004 to 2008, Moore competed with the Brown Bears women's ice hockey program. Playing for head coach Digit Murphy, Moore accumulated 133 points on the strength of 69 goals. In her junior and senior seasons, Moore served as captain for the Bears, graduating among the program's top ten all-time leading scorers. The 2015–16 NWHL season is the first season of operation of the National Women's Hockey League. Four teams competed for the inaugural Isobel Cup: the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, New York Riveters, and Connecticut Whale. Dousman, Wisconsin
Dousman is a village in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,419 at the 2020 census. History A post office called Dousman has been in operation since 1856. Founded in 1881, the village was named for Talbot C. Dousman, a local farmer and businessman who helped bring the Chicago and North Western railroad to the area. The village was incorporated in 1917. The village was at one time called "Bullfrog Station" because of the numerous bullfrogs in the area. The local baseball team is still called the Dousman Frogs and an annual frog jumping competition takes place during Dousman's Derby Days. The Dousman Community is very catholic based. North Reading (pronounced, as is with Reading as () is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 15,554 at the 2020 census. History The area was first settled in 1651 when the town of Reading received a special land grant north of the Ipswich River. 2016–17 NWHL Season
The 2016–17 NWHL season is the second season of operation of the National Women's Hockey League. All four teams from the inaugural season returned for this season: the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, and New York Riveters. League business Team locations During the off-season, the Connecticut Whale moved to Northford Ice Pavilion in North Branford, Connecticut, and the defending champion Boston Pride moved to the new Warrior Ice Arena in the Boston neighborhood of Brighton. On August 1, 2016, it was announced that the New York Riveters moved from Brooklyn to the Barnabas Health Hockey House in Newark, New Jersey, situated within the Prudential Center as the New Jersey Devils practice arena. The facility was the site of the first Isobel Cup finals the previous season.
