The 2016–17 Armenian Cup is the 26th season of Armenia's football knockout competition. It features the six 2016–17 Premier League teams, plus Erebuni and Kotayk from the 2016–17 First Division. The tournament begins on 21 September 2016, with Banants the defending champions, having won their third title the previous season. FC Shirak
Football Club Shirak ( hy, Շիրակ Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ), commonly known as Shirak, is an Armenian professional sports club based in Gyumri. Shirak is known for its professional football team which is one of the oldest football clubs in Armenia, having been created in 1958. The club is the only team that participated in all seasons of the Armenian Premier League since its creation in 1992 until 2021. Shirak is one of the more successful clubs in Armenia, having won a total of 11 domestic titles including four Armenian Premier League titles, two Armenian Cup, and five Armenian Super Cup. Shirak has yet to qualify for an international tournament playoff round, yet frequently plays UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League qualifying matches. Alashkert FC
Football Club Alashkert ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Ալաշկերտ), commonly known as Alashkert, is an Football in Armenia, Armenian football club based in the capital Yerevan, founded in 1990 in Martuni, Armenia, Martuni and after folding in 2000 re-founded in 2011. They currently play in the Armenian Premier League. The home stadium of the team is the Alashkert Stadium in Yerevan. The club headquarters are located on Saryan street 25, Yerevan. Although based in Yerevan they are in fact named after the historic Western Armenian town of Alashkert, now Eleşkirt in Eastern Turkey. Away Goals Rule
The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaker, tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground. Under the away goals rule, if the total goals scored by each team are equal, the team that has scored more goals "Road (sports), away from home" wins. This is sometimes expressed by saying that away goals "count double" in the event of a tie, though in practice the team with more away goals is simply recorded as the victor, rather than having additional or 'double' goals added to their total. Football Club Ararat Yerevan ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Արարատ Երևան), commonly known as Ararat Yerevan, is an Armenian association football, football club based in Yerevan that plays in the Armenian Premier League. Kamo Hovhannisyan ( hy, Կամո Հովհաննիսյան, born on 5 October 1992) is an Armenian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Kazakhstan Premier League club Astana and the Armenia national team. Club career Kamo Hovhannisyan was born in Yerevan to parents Artashes and Gayane Hovhannisyan. Artur Yedigaryan ( hy, Արթուր Եդիգարյան; born 26 June 1987) is a retired Armenian football player played as midfielder. He is currently the assistant manager of Sevan FC.
