Samar Badawi
Samar bint Muhammad Badawi ( ar, سمر بدوي; born 28 June 1981) is a Saudi Arabian human rights activist. She and her father filed court cases against each other. Badawi's father accused her of disobedience under the Saudi Arabian male guardianship system and she charged her father with ''adhl''—"making it hard or impossible for a person, especially a woman, to have what she wants, or what's rightfully hers; e.g, her right to marry" according to Islamic jurisprudence—for refusing to allow her to marry. After Badawi missed several trial dates relating to the charge, an arrest warrant was issued for her, and Badawi was imprisoned on 4 April 2010. In July 2010, Jeddah General Court ruled in Samar Badawi's favor, and she was released on 25 October 2010, and her guardianship was transferred to an uncle. Faris Al-Zahrani
Faris bin Ahmed bin Jam'an bin Ali Aal Shuwayl al-Hassani al-Zahrani al-Azdi (1977 – ; ar, فارس بن أحمد بن جمعان بن علي آل شويل الحسني الزهراني الأزدي) was a terrorist who was on Saudi Arabia's list of 26 'most-wanted' suspected terrorists. He was a part of the Al-Qaeda. He was known for conducting research which showed Al-Qaeda in a positive light. His prominence rose especially after the killing of Abdel Aziz al-Muqrin the leader of Al-Qaeda in Saudi Arabia. He made a post denouncing his Saudi Arabian citizenship under the assumption of the state apostatizing from Islam. He was arrested in early August 2004. On 2 January 2016, Sheikh Zahrani was executed by the Saudi state along with 46 others convicted of terrorism. Nimr Al-Nimr
Ayatollah Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr ( ar, نمر باقر النمر, Nimr Bāqir an-Nimr, Bakir al-Nimr, al-Nemr, al-Namr, al-Nimer, al-Nemer, al-Namer; 21 June 1959 – 2 January 2016), commonly referred to as Sheikh Nimr, was a Shia sheikh in al-Awamiyah in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province whose arrest and execution was widely condemned, including by governments and human rights organizations. He was popular among youth and critical of the Saudi Arabian government, calling for free elections in Saudi Arabia. He was arrested by Saudi authorities in 2006, at which time al-Nimr said he was beaten by the Mabahith. In 2009, he criticised Saudi authorities and suggested that if Saudi Shia rights were not respected, the Eastern Province should secede. Saudi authorities responded by arresting al-Nimr and 35 others. The North Pole, also known as the Geographic North Pole or Terrestrial North Pole, is the point in the Northern Hemisphere where the Earth's axis of rotation meets its surface. Mariam H. Fardous ( ar, مريم حامد خليل فردوس) (born 15 September 1984; Mecca) is a Saudi astronaut, selected as a back-up astronaut for Axiom Mission 2 by the Saudi Space Commission; her selection was officially announced on February 12, 2023. She is a Saudi epidemiologist, humanitarian, scuba diver who was raised in Mecca. She became the first Saudi woman and the first Arab woman to dive deep in the Arctic Ocean (North Arctic Circle) on 1 May 2015. On 16 April 2016, Mariam became the first ever Arab woman and only the third woman to dive in the North Pole.
