2016 World Ladies Snooker Championship
The 2016 World Ladies Snooker Championship was a women's snooker tournament that took place at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds, England, from 2 to 5 April 2016. The event was the 2016 edition of the World Women's Snooker Championship first held in 1976. The event was won by Reanne Evans, who defeated defending champion Ng On-yee 6–4 in the final. Background The event was hosted at the Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds. Qualifying featured five groups of five or six players each with eight players qualifying for the main tournament. Those players met eight seeded players in the last-16 knockout round. After the group stage, the players not reaching the main knockout tournament competed in a parallel "Plate" tournament. World Women's Snooker Championship
The World Women's Snooker Championship (formerly known as the Women's World Open Championship from 1976 to 1981 and the World Ladies Snooker Championship from 1983 to 2018) is the leading tournament on the World Women's Snooker Tour. Rebecca Kenna
Rebecca Kenna (' Granger; born 11 January 1989) is an English professional snooker player from Keighley. She competes on the World Women's Snooker Tour, through which she also earned a tour card for the professional World Snooker Tour. She was runner-up in the 2018 World Ladies Billiards Championship. 2016 World Snooker Championship
The 2016 World Snooker Championship (officially the 2016 Betfred World Snooker Championship) was a professional snooker tournament that took place from 16 April to 2 May 2016 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. It was the 40th year that the World Snooker Championship had been held at the venue. The event was tenth and last event that carries ranking points of the 2015–16 snooker season. Stuart Bingham was the defending champion, having defeated Shaun Murphy in the 2015 event final. Peter Lines
Peter Lines (born 11 December 1969) is an English professional snooker player. He has reached the semi-finals of one ranking tournament, the 2018 Paul Hunter Classic. He reached his highest ranking, 42nd in the world, in 1999. He is the father of fellow professional snooker player Oliver Lines. In January 2022, Lines won the 2022 UK Seniors Championship, part of the World Seniors Tour. In the same month, he was disciplined by the WPBSA for breaching conduct rules and bringing the game into disrepute. Laura Evans (snooker Player)
Laura Evans (born 1986) is a Welsh snooker player. She has been Welsh Ladies' snooker champion three times, and was runner-up in the 2015 Eden Ladies Masters and the 2017 World Women's 10-Red Championship. Biography Evans started playing snooker aged 14. She started entering women's tournaments in Wales, and won her first event at 15. The following year, with a practice routine of playing around six hours a day, she started entering world ladies snooker events. Evans won Welsh Ladies Championship in three consecutive years.
