The 2016 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships was the annual Junior World Championship for track cycling held at the World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland from 20 to 24 July 2016. Medals were won across 19 disciplines. Medal summary Notes * Held as a demonstration event. No medals were awarded for this discipline. * Although marked as a record, Italy had won the European title several days prior in 4:29.234. * Held on a 200m track. Team sprint records are only kept for 250m tracks. World Cycling Centre
The World Cycling Centre (WCC, french: Centre Mondial du Cyclisme) is a coaching and training centre in Aigle, Switzerland. It contains a indoor velodrome, a BMX racing track and other non-cycling facilities. It was built in 2002 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world Sports governing body, governing body for sports cycling, whose headquarters is located in the main building. Since its opening over 1,000 training camps have taken place at the centre. Ethan Edward Hayter (born 18 September 1998) is a British racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Hayter started riding at Herne Hill Velodrome in 2012, aged 13. He raced for the VC Londres cycling club from 2012 to 2016, and remains an honorary member. In 2016 he joined British Cycling's Senior Academy squad, relinquishing his A-level studies in order to join the programme. Kristian Eriksen (born 18 July 1995) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Eliteserien club Molde. Career He hails from Hamar. Eriksen played youth football for Vang FL before playing for the U17 and U20 teams of Hamkam.
