The 2016 Team Speedway Junior World Championship was the 12th FIM Team Under-21 World Championship season. The final took place on 20 August, 2016 at the ICA Maxi Arena in Norrköping, Sweden.Poland won their ninth Team Under-21 World Championship. The Poles accumulated 44 points, with Bartosz Zmarzlik and Paweł Przedpełski scoring 14 points each, to beat Australia by seven points. Team Speedway Junior World Championship
The Team Speedway Under-21 World Championship is a speedway competition to determine the World Championship for national Under-21 teams. The sport's equivalent of the Under-21 World Cup in football, as of 2022 the title is awarded to the winners of SON2, the Under-21 division of the Speedway of Nations. The first edition of the competition was in 2005 prior to its incorporation with the Speedway of Nations. Poland has dominated the competition winning the title record 15 times. The 2016 Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup (SWC) was the sixteenth FIM Speedway World Cup, the annual international speedway world championship tournament. It took place between 23 July and 30 July 2016 and involved nine national teams. It was won by Poland, the first time they achieved success since 2013, and the seventh time in total. Joel Andersson (born 10 April 1996) is an international speedway rider from Sweden. Speedway career Andersson came to prominence at the 2015 Team Speedway Junior European Championship where he won a silver medal and top scored for Sweden. The following year he won the 2016 Swedish U21 championship, finished fourth in the 2016 Individual Speedway Junior European Championship and the 2016 Team Speedway Junior European Championship and reached the 2016 Speedway Under-21 World Championship final. Filip Hjelmland (born 10 September 1998) is a speedway rider from Sweden. Speedway career Hjelmland came to prominence in 2017 when he won a silver medal at the European U19 Championship.
