2016 SVL Season
The 2016 Shakey's V-League season was the thirteenth and last season for the Shakey's V-League. The succeeding tournaments (c. 2017–present) were named as the Philippine V-League and then ultimately the Premier Volleyball League. There were three indoor conferences for this season. Shakey's V-League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. History Shakey's V-League (2004–2016) The Premier Volleyball League was established in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. led by Jun Bernardino, Ricky Palou, Moying Martelino, and Rhea Navarro who were businessmen previously known for being men's basketball patrons. The Shakey's V-League was initially an inter-collegiate women's league with teams from the UAAP, NCAA, CESAFI among others playing in the league. Roger Gorayeb
Roger Gorayeb is a Filipino volleyball coach and former college player. He is noted for being a multi-titled and longtime coach of the San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Manila women's team of the NCAA. Career Gorayeb has served as head coach of the San Sebastian College women's volleyball team. Under Gorayeb's watch, San Sebastian grabbed 11 consecutive championships for the women's team from 1986 to 1997, 22 women's volleyball titles, 6 titles in women's beach volleyball and 11 in junior's volleyball. Gorayeb started his coaching career as a player-coach in 1984, when he was tasked to lead San Sebastian's men's team when their Australian coach left the team. He was also the head coach of the Ateneo Lady Eagles volleyball team for five years until his resignation in 2013 as head coach to focus on his coaching stint with San Sebastian. Relea Ferina "Chie" Saet (born November 24, 1984) is a Filipino volleyball player. She currently plays for the Petro Gazz Angels in the Premier Volleyball League. Iriga City Oragons
The Iriga City Oragons is a professional women's volleyball club that played in the Philippine SuperLiga. The team is owned by the Local Government of Iriga City. In 2018, the Lady Oragons returned to the Premier Volleyball League during the reinforced conference and is joined by the Philippine Navy players.
