2016 Rizal Local Elections
Local elections will be held in the Province of Rizal on May 9, 2016 as part of the 2016 general election. Voters will select candidates for all local positions: a municipal/city mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the governor, vice-governor and representatives for the two districts of Rizal. Rebecca Ynares
Rebecca "Nini" Alcantara Ynares (born September 26, 1949) is a Filipina politician from the province of Rizal, Philippines who previously served as governor of the province from 2001 to 2004 and again from 2013 to 2022. She also served as president of Octagon Realty & Development Corporation, JNM Realty & Development Corporation, and Mar-vi Enterprise, Inc. and the director of United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) from 1998 to 2001. Jala-Jala, Rizal
Jalajala (; also spelled as Jala-jala), officially the Municipality of Jalajala ( tgl, Bayan ng Jalajala), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 34,017 people. Etymology What is now the town's Barangay Punta was the seat of an earlier settlement later known as Halaán. During the summer from April to May, the shores of Laguna de Bay along Punta would be filled with small shellfish locally known as ''halaán''. As is typical with many modern Philippine toponyms, the town's name supposedly resulted from miscommunication between early Spanish visitors and natives. Angelito Cabaron Gatlabayan (born July 3, 1952), also referred to by his initials ACG, is a Filipino politician. He was the first City Mayor of Antipolo following its transition to cityhood, serving from 1998 to 2007. Casimiro "Jun" Alcantara Ynares III (born March 4, 1973) is a Filipino physician and politician who is the mayor of Antipolo from 2013 to 2019 and since 2022. Antipolo, officially known as the City of Antipolo ( fil, Lungsod ng Antipolo), is a 1st class component city and capital of the province of Rizal, Philippines. Teresa, officially the Municipality of Teresa ( tgl, Bayan ng Teresa), is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines.
